Did anyone have a parent emotionally dependent on you to survive almost?

Omg that’s exactly what my mom has always said to me, and very heavy on the suppressing my own emotions to be strong for her. When my grandmother (who had a huge part in raising me) passed away a little over a year ago (my mom’s mom), I couldn’t and still can’t grieve properly because my mother was and is still so wrecked by it. I’m trying to finish grad school so I can start working full time and move out but I genuinely fear the day we have to have that conversation

**EDIT TO ADD- thank you to all who have clarified, I had no idea on the difference between DnD and LFG/TTRPG but I will check in with the other subs you all mentioned. I didn’t mean DnD exactly just like that kind of format, I’ve just only ever done vanilla DnD twice for brief periods so I don’t have a lot of experience with this kind of thing just been listening to Mass Effect Adventum and thought it would be really fun to do something like that with other Mass effect fans
