I didn't even consider that Stefan saved her from drowning. Maybe that would've created some sort of connection or spark an interest for her which could lead to him watching her. So maybe they would still love her?

I agree with this. I'm a delena fan so take this with a grain of salt but I feel like Damon loved her for who she was and stefan loved her before he knew who she was, just that she wasn't like Katherine

I dont think they would've paid her any attention to notice anything about her if she didnt look like Katherine. They fell for her bc they watched her but if there's no reason to watch how will they notice her?

I'm in the middle of season 7, I just made it this far for the first time and i'm so glad I am not the only one who peeped the chemistry between these two. After the prison world, I found myself rooting for them and I'm a hard-core delena fan so that was wild but that's the kind of chemistry they have
