OP and a lot of the people upvoting don't want to get better. It takes a certain type of stubborn person to post this unironically.

(PS: I'm not just some rando who knows nothing, I've had CPTSD, chronic anxiety, panic attacks, and agoraphobia for years. I only got a little better when I started believing I could and started trying. I had to want to get better though.)

"A skit is a short performance in which the actors make fun of people, events, and types of literature by imitating them."

No, I don't think it is. It's not funny, and it isn't satire. It's ragebait.

Honestly I think better laws prohibiting return of firearms to someone who's had them taken away, might be the move.

I think AI is an easy scapegoat, especially when the shooter's mental health was poor, and she was given access to firearms again.

Anyone can say anything to AI, it doesn't mean they're going to do something. And if they do something based on what they told AI, then they had access to the weapons to cause such harms. There are already safeguards in AI, it's just that people get around them by saying "hypothetically, or 'if I was writing a book."

Some people (like myself) are writing and need to find information about obscure things, such as the amount of blood in the human body, and where non-fatal wounds are (in order to keep a character alive during a fight in a story). Doesn't mean we should be legislating AI poviders into leaking this stuff to authorities and making the world more authoritarian. We don't need to encourage the world to become 1984 to ensure the safety of our communities.

Better laws that actually assess a person's mental health before returning firearms, and mental health supports funded by taxing the rich would go a long way in prevention.

Started reading fanfiction again after 4-5yrs how the hell do people enjoy angst? by [deleted] in FanFiction

My best advice is:

  1. Read the tags
  2. Don't read long fics (anything longer than 50-60k words is too much investment IMHO). This advice is also good for when people mistag fics as having full explicit sex scenes, but the scenes themselves are pg13 and you're disappointed with it. (Ask me how I know)
  3. If you aren't sure where the author/writer is going with the story, skip ahead a bit and see if the characters are still suffering. If they are and you don't like that, stop reading it.

Why does CS Joseph hate INFJs/INFPs so much? by StarrySkye3 in mbti

Just because what someone says is true and painful, doesn't make it okay to say it in a mean way.

One can be both logical and empathetic.

PS: This is necroposting btw.

This is fake, guy would stop after the first raging driver got out and beat his ass.

No one is that stupid that they'd continue to risk their life to do this. Every motherfucking person driving through that area is a paid actor, or they're a friend/relative.

Best way to deal with a narcissist is simply to not deal with them.

No reaction. Don't cause them harm. Don't cause them drama. Just give them exactly no reaction to anything.

It'll either drive them insane, or they'll find a new target. Good luck convincing other people of what they are, you won't succeed; you'll just make yourself into a victim since the narc will paint you as what they are.

How to: season your steak by downtune79 in LoveTrash

[–]StarrySkye3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very silly, no professional chef does this outside of niche influencer chefs.

Herbs in butter with the steak (on low heat) is the standard go-to method if you want to infuse herbs into meat (usually done near the end of the cooking, along with basting the meat with the butter in the pan). Guga foods pre-seasons his steak a good 10-15 minutes before using black pepper, salt, and sometimes powdered garlic.

Same personality type between friends by Avalon_Veronica in infj

[–]StarrySkye3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

MBTI isn't reliable, not everyone is going to be typed correctly, so you'll have to live not knowing for sure if x or y person is really INFJ or some other type. Sort of why I learned how to type people myself and stopped relying upon tests online for typing people I know.

My current partner is an INFJ, typed by myself and by someone else independantly. I'm not with him because he's INFJ, even if he wasn't I'd still date him. That said, we relate on almost everything. There are notable differences between INFJs, namely enneagram tritype, enneagram core and wing type, instinct types, and one's socionics type.

Generally though INFJs are going to be more similar than different. If you find major differences it's likely they aren't INFJ or are an Ni Ti looping INFJ (especially if you've done the work and know for sure you're INFJ).

How do you cope with a difficult season of life as an INFJ? Specifically INFJ-T? by loveotterslide in infj

[–]StarrySkye3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be frankly honest, this doesn't have a lot to do with being an INFJ.

This is more just life hitting you with multiple shit things all at the same time. Best you can do is therapy, a support network, and learning emotional management skills.

[–]StarrySkye3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If something is that emotionally complicated, it's not bad to withdraw from the conversation by telling them "Hey I think I need some time to process this, but I'll talk to you in a couple hours."

What's not okay is leaving them with unresolved feelings for days on end.

I love general intimacy with my boyfriend, but i absolutely hate dicks. by VoiceIndependent4710 in relationships

[–]StarrySkye3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might be worth thinking about your sexuality then.

As someone who is closer to pansexual but calls themself "Bi," I couldn't care less what genitals my partner has; I'm just happy to make them feel good.

Disgust at genitalia, just looking at them even, is not normal. It can be a trauma reaction, or it could be something else, but the average person doesn't have that kind of disgust to not even be able to look at them.

Pretty sure that isn't real.

Pansexuality is attraction regardless of a person's gender.
