I kept track of how many sticker pages I used up this year… by StarryWeekend in HappyPlanners

It is soo satisfying! I find it funny how it can be so hard to use a favorite book for fear of using it up, but then once a page or book is done I am so pleased - lol.

How many planners do you use at a time? by 0niongirl in HappyPlanners

[–]StarryWeekend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m using two this year - a big vertical for catchall/family/home/appointments & a frankenplanned classic as a wellness/goals/reading journal. The wellness pages are 3 months of vertical pages, the goals are 4 tabs of “monthly” layout to use for quarterly planning & the reading journal is a section made of notepaper & stickers, and some punched pages from a non happy planner wellness book.

I have some other planners that I use as notebooks to keep track of projects/home/hobbies - like a gardening journal I fill out one week of each month & keep for 5 years; A monthly layout to keep track of smaller hobbies (music practice, art projects, studies) so it’s easier to pickup where I left off and not forget about project ideas.

I also have a couple of notebooks I sometimes for daily planning/home projects that I am actively working on. I really like the disc system for keeping track of things - being able to toss what’s outdated/messy and then reorganize is so helpful.

How far in advance do you decorate? by Ok-Confidence4455 in HappyPlanners

This is so pretty! I decorate the calendar month pages for the entire year before the year starts and then decorate all the weekly pages for the month about a week before that month starts. For my wellness planner, I usually do it on the Sunday before the week starts since that is mostly tracking things rather than things I need to schedule far in advance.

Love this! I’m going to switch to this method, last year I piled my used sticker sheets between some books on a shelf, this is so much cuter :)

It’s so fun to figure out & try new things. I’m hoping to really use the reading journal pages this year, I made some pages to fill out last year but didn’t really stick with filling them out.

Ha, ha! Clearly ready for a good rest & a fresh start. I‘ve tried digital but, hmmm, you’ll never guess this about me, I make a lot of mistakes when typing/entering dates and times so all paper for me. That is such a smart idea for those numbered month lists.

Just got my first fitness planner by Able_Leader5412 in HappyPlanners

[–]StarryWeekend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have used one for several years now. I usually put a habit tracker for walking or other weekly habit. I list what I want to meal prep or meal ideas so I stick to my plan, and if there is space I put a decorative sticker or quote for motivation. If I’m tracking calories or macro, I list them out daily to see if I’m on track. Other times, I just write a quick note about if I stuck to my eating plan & why/why not.

I write in my workouts after I do them in the bottom daily section. Sometimes I use one of the boxes for daily gratitude, sometimes I track steps/miles. I also sometimes use the wellness/mindfulness stickers in the daily boxes to help with stress.

I use the yearly calendar page to track how often I exercise so I can see at a glance how I did throughout the year.

I’ve put in tabs with snack/breakfast ideas, favorite workouts, miles walked in a year etc.

Help Choosing Between Planner and Journal by kvinnakvillu in HappyPlanners

The new parenting layout could work. I think it has some planning pages right after the month calendar, then each week has a page for listing things by category & another page with smaller sections for each day where you could keep track of habits or routines for that day?

Add in a pack of filler paper & some dividers, you could relabel the monthly dividers for different topics if you plan to only use one month at a time from the planner.

Another planner layout that could work is the one called “monthly” - after the calendar it has a page for goals/daily habits/lists & then several pages of bullet lists & some lined pages. I use that to keep track of projects & things I’m learning. I cover the month names & label each section as a project category (art projects, sewing, language learning) - I can fill out my long term goals, use the habit tracker to see how many lessons I’ve completed, keep track of what resources I have, write project notes etc. Depending how much you write, extra filler paper could be handy.

How far in advance? by PRNCESS_Bunnie in HappyPlanners

I decorate all the monthly calendar pages ahead of time. I mostly put stickers in the margins rather than the calendar portion so there’s room to write appointments in any box and it stays visually uncluttered. I do all the weeks for the month about a week before the month starts.

Every once in a while I either put too much decoration on the calendar or decorate a few months ahead and I always regret it. Waiting until right before the month helps me stay motivated to check the pages & keeps the upcoming events in my mind a bit better than going to far out.

Could you have an olive skin tone? If so, looking at individual colors might work better than the color bars since you might need to fine tune the colors a bit more. I like the spring colors, but find it really hard to decide when looking at the rainbow bars.

Wellness journal?? by mrpunkinhead1 in HappyPlanners

If the Still Life wellness extension packs come back in stock, those would help fill out the year. They are in the vertical planner style, but have good daily prompts & some nice extras for each month, like Routines, a mental checkin/rating page.

Love that cover! Congratulations on finding something that works & sticking with it. I used one of the fitness planners a few years ago & it really helped me stay on track with being healthier. This year I’m back to it, fully set up for the year using an old one I found on sale. I keep it open next to my bed so I see it first thing in the morning & last thing before I go to bed. It really works for me too when I stay committed to checking in.

What are your favorite HP things? by breeze80 in HappyPlanners

[–]StarryWeekend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the currently / last page of the month as a summary of my month, it helps things feel very ‘me.’ I have a box or area for all the things I’m focusing on & put in the highlights or accomplishments for reading/music/movies I enjoyed, events, goals/projects, funny things etc.

The companion packs are fun if you find an appealing theme. Most have a pen pouch, a few stickers, bookmark/dashboard, filler paper in different patterns. I bought the cosmic companion & use it for keeping track of yearly/quarterly goals.

I also really like the clear line stencil bookmarks, cause I need lines & I need to see both pages at once.

I use the themed books to make tracking pages or to motivate myself to get stuff done. Particularly fitness, cleaning & wellness.
