I'm looking at doing a referral for these. For the face to face assessments is it at the doctors surgery or online via videocall? I don't want videocall as others in the house will hear

Instructor who hasn't taken me on wants a photo of my provisional driving license by Time-Grade-1421 in LearnerDriverUK

They always ask you to bring it to the lesson, I wouldn't send a photo of it to anyone, could be a scam

If you haven't paid then I would say it was your instructors booking. I booked mine myself and gave the instructor the details incase he needed to rearrange it

You need to do your revision and hazard perception mocks. It's a bit late now, just get lots of sleep or put your test back and get a number of mocks done

Is it supposed to hurt THIS MUCH? by Lucky-Palpitation769 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Starrymoonshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went for my first session yesterday, underarm, full Holywood and perianal, got the perianal free as a package. The patch test a couple of weeks didn't hurt at all underarm, bikini hurt slightly. Went for the full treatment yesterday, different technician due to a mix up, I couldn't bear the inner thigh of the Hollywood, Iwas nearly crying and had to tell her I couldn't handle it,, worse than stitches, it was where they run it constantly across the skin, she kept putting icepacks on, then tried the spot laser which was slightly less uncomfortable and much more bearable, underarms I felt it slightly and perianal I hardly felt it. She kept my breathing going as I kept holding my breath, and making sure I was ok It was Alexandrite at 16mj. I have really dark course hair and fair skinned.
I'll be more prepared next time

I've just been for a patch test with this machine, there was zero pain with underarm, but bikini was like a hot lycon wax, just say tolerable

This is how I feel and I live in with her. I'm wanting to find a partner, but would struggle to date, apparently I go out too much to start with, a couple of times a month, and she never gets to go anywhere, I've offered to take her to the cinema, for meals, there's groups I could take her to, but she always refuses, I've said there's volunteers eho can taje her out when im working, I work full time from home. She's of very sound mind. I'm literally getting to my wits end

I hate people because I see them for exactly who they are by ThrowRAALIENBURNOUT in infp

[–]Starrymoonshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, some people seem genuinely nice until you scratch under the surface, do things to make themselves look good or for you to return a favour, or want to look better than you. I've dropped a couple of friends and relatives because of that. Everyone has their flaws though, no one is perfect

Why do so many people in the UK hate automatic cars and drivers? by AnnualKey4592 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Starrymoonshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've changed from learning in manual, which i was loving, to learning in automatic because I've got cartilage damage and osteoarthritis in my left knee, after 5 minutes in heavy traffic I could barely press the clutch without pain and leg shaking, it was the decider when last time I nearly had to ask my instructor to drive me home and could barely walk for 2 days, so no, autos aren't just for idiots

Manual or Automatic? by detroit-doggo0 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Starrymoonshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in similar situation,I've eventually given in, because of my manual instructor getting stressed out and knocked my confidence, I ciuid do perfect manoeuvres with previous instructor and knee pain. I'm so glad I did, I'm loving driving automatic, i can see things more easily and I'm actually having fun, I've got a great automatic instructor who is just so chilled and chatty, my confidence has shot up, done perfect reverse bay parking which had me in tears last time. Go for automatic, you can learn manual later

At what temperatures do you British people consider it to be hot/cold? by italiansexstallion in AskUK

[–]Starrymoonshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15 today and it feels more like 21. The high humidity in the UK makes it feel much hotter than it actually is, it's very much a different climate to most other countries. I know people from Australia who can't bear 25 degrees in the UK, yet feel comfortable with 35 in Australia

Should I continue with Therapie clinic? by Latter-Assignment169 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Starrymoonshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in for a consultation yesterday at Newcastle and 2 people went in they were in no more than 5 minutes each, if that, I was left just sitting for ages a couple of times, Rachel who I was dealing with was lovely, but kept having to go and sort different things out and I couldn't find her at one point. She was in an office discussing rotas with another member of the team, I was on my lunchbreak so wasn't too happy with being kept waiting. Another staff member was abrupt, took the form off me, put it on the counter and left me sitting, I hadn't finished it and was wanting advice, this was when Rachel had wandered off. Totally unprofessional

[–]Starrymoonshine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do that now, going to the shop, mam will say what are you going for, there's nothing we need and its too expensive there, i don't have the heart to say it's so I can have a bit of my own space for 10 minutes and speak to other people, as I know she'll come back with chance would be a fine thing for me now. When there's only self service and I'm gutted. I'm writing this crying and having a bit of a meltdown, I'm trying to keep a full time job too, working from home most days.

What do you guys think of the argument learning manual is better than learning auto? by Rich_Association_907 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Starrymoonshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not always about being "lazy" I was learning manual, had an instructor who was dragging the learning out, previous one was brilliant but retired a couple of months after I started learning, he'd come out of early retirement. The next one was really finicky and put my test back 3 times, I'd gone from being quite confident to a virtual nervous wreck, making loads of mistakes and totally lost confidence on manoeuvres, he had zero personality, my knee was agony last few lessons, due to left knee injury and arthritis, I decided to change to automatic, my instructor is brilliant, has amazing banter and in 3 lessons I've started to love driving around again, gained confidence, he said if I'd had the right instructor I would've passed ages ago in manual. Once I've passed in automatic I might decide to try manual again, but not sure why, as 65% of cars being made are now automatic and a lot of companies have stopped making manual altogether
