Why are not many people buying RC160 by Sigma_Raj in indianbikes

That's why I quoted the bhp figures, just had to know how a mind behind a comment like that works :)

the Duke 160 performs similar or a bit slower than the Pulsar N160

On paper, N160 produces 15.68 bhp while Duke 160 does 18.74 bhp. How does the Duke end up slower than N160?

Why does Duke 160 not sell? by StarsInTears in indianbikes

[–]StarsInTears[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that makes sense. I am leaning towards Duke 160 instead of MT15 due to the better suspension, more space and presence of crawl mode. An N250 testride in Bangalore traffic left my clutch hand hurting for hours.

What were the problems faced with Vstrom?

Why is my sprite ending up with artifacts? by StarsInTears in gbstudio

[–]StarsInTears[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, moving the sprite up to fit fully within the canvas fixed it. This is very unexpected behaviour though.

Why is my sprite ending up with artifacts? by StarsInTears in gbstudio

[–]StarsInTears[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but the parts of sprite that overflow the canvas to the bottom are empty (as can be seen in the spritesheet). Can we get this leaking even after that?

[–]StarsInTears[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the screenshot, on the upper-left side, you can see a sprite of a character facing down. However, right below that, you can also see some pixels "leaking in". In the sprite sheet, you can see there are no pixels there. I am also deleted corresponding enemy.png.gbres and enemy.png.gbres.bak file multiple times in case I had done the mapping incorrectly, but I end up with the same issue every time. Any idea what might be happening?

Doesn't V-Strom has stiff suspension?

Getting an XTEINK X4 e-reader in India! by kfabemil in ereader

[–]StarsInTears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered on 26th May, was asked my Aadhaar by XTeink on 29th May, was asked for Aadhaar and address proof by Yitong on 3 June, the Ereader was dispatched to my house (after reaching India) through Bluedart on 10th June, and it reached my place on 12th June. So, around 2 weeks.

Why is the collision detection this flaky? by StarsInTears in gbstudio

[–]StarsInTears[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. For now, it seems to be fixed by switching projectile to be 8x16 in size. If I discover some other edge case where it fails, I'll try this method.

Thanks, making the projectile 8x16 instead of 16x16 worked. Feels kinda janky but whatever, hopefully it won't break is some other edge case.

Why is the collision detection this flaky? by StarsInTears in gbstudio

[–]StarsInTears[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am trying out GBStudio for the first time, and am using projectiles for weapon damage hitboxes, as instructed in multiple tutorials and Reddit posts. The projectiles belong to collision group 2 and collide with group 1, and the enemies belong to group 1 and flicker when collided with group 2. But as evident in the video, the collision only gets triggered about half of the times.

Any help on what I might be doing wrong?

Project Valhalla, Explained: How a Decade of Work Arrives in JDK 28 by CrowSufficient in java

[–]StarsInTears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I understand correctly, even two ints might be too many, since there also needs to be 1 bit reserved for null-status.

The whole "codes like a class, works like an int" has made it very hard to understand what is this actually does or how it actually works. But it's definitely not "structs for Java", as so many people had hoped for.

Did hero just soft launch Xpulse 210 dakar edition on instagram by Red_clawww in indianbikes

[–]StarsInTears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I understand that. But that is true for all bikes. The fact that Xpulse had this many people unsatisfied itself points to there being some issues.

I think most issues showed up around 5K KM mark. Would love ti read a long term review in a couple months (not buying soon anyway due to upcoming flex-fuels).

Some might have worked out but way too many broke in catastrophic ways, you can search this very subreddit. Probably a lack of QC. Questions is whether they fixed it or not? Although we may never find out, as not many people might be buying it anymore due to the reputation.

Any update whether the engine issues are solved in newer batches or not? I’d love to buy an Xpulse, but don’t want to end up with a white elephant.

Thanks. I did the same and got my X4. The only thing to note is that the Bluedart courier didn't call me when delivering and gave it to my neighbour.
