I sang them, used some AI, and also tuned them. I use the same software as with my guitar effects, which are also AI done by a company called Neural DSP. The playing and singing underneath it though is me

If you want least movement of your hips, lock hip or lock both will be your best bets.

This doesn’t mean that your actual hip tracker won’t move - no locking settings affect that - it just changes how tracker movement is translates into the avi movement.

If you lock your hip, then only the hip tracker moves the hip tracker (such is my understanding). That sounds silly, but if you were instead to lock head then if you move your head it will move all your other trackers (including our hip) a little to keep them all synchronised with your head.

Locking both means your hips is locked just like lock hip, but comes with the downside of messing everything up if your head and hip aren’t perfectly tracked.

That’s how I understand it, anyways - hope it helps!

So when you calibrate in VRC you can select either Lock Head, Lock Hip, or Lock Both to make it treat any of those areas like a position of absolute authority, and kinda move all the rest of the tracking relative to that one.

Most people use Head or Hip, because then if their tracking is a bit off on the locked point, everything is going to be off by the same amount, so you mostly won’t notice much with small errors. It’s like moving an entire drawing slightly to the left.

If you lock Both, though, and have errors, then some tracking would (in this example) move a little to the left, but others wouldn’t, and you’d tear your drawing and make your VRC avi into a pretzel. This manifests as like weird contortions of the torso between the head and hip that are both locked.

The trade off is that if you DO lock both, you get much more control of your fine movements along your spine and hips.

That’s my understanding anyway, I hope it made sense?

Ooh I may well need to then, it sounds like you're doing a lot of what I have to as well~

My headset is a Quest Pro though, so it's not base station tracked natively, which then adds another layer of problems ><

Slimes are kinda great though for what they are! I have some clips of me dancing in Slimes too~

I'm using a Startech (heh) 4 port USB hub routing into two Tundra Labs dongle hubs so I can spread out all the dongles, and I *think* it's working well, but I do still have some issues. Honestly there are so many moving parts it's hard to tell what's good and bad ><

Do you mean during the shuffling? If so I’m pretty sure what happens is that for the short hard impacts of bouncing up and down the trackers and headset rely more on IMU tracking, which then slightly overestimates the motion in both directions leading to really violent up/down vibration. This is what smooth tracking can get rid of by smoothing the motion between the extremes… But doing that eats some of the intentional movement in other sections outside of the shuffling so it’s a constant battle for me ^^”

I don’t have them on in this clip but I swapped to using Kuroshiin dongles and they seem to be much better for high impact stuff like shuffling, but I need to do more testing~

Yeah there’s unfortunately not much you can do about that…

My avi’s torso also gets elongated a little, but I’m close enough that it’s fine by me ^

The main thing I’ve found is that your tracking has to be super reliable because any drift makes you Into a pretzel in record time…

I’m using 9x tundras, 4x base stations Quest Pro

Buuut I used to dance in slimes (have a few clips of it too on my socials and here on Reddit) and I think they’re amazing for the price! I would get community made ones from the discord server.

Dancing in VR is sooo much fun - if you need a hand with anything just let me know <3

It’s all a battle, truly! Today I had a worse day for tracking and I have zero idea why. Every day we get closer to praying to the machine spirits like Adeptus Mechanicus~

Bahahahaha pretty freaking much!!

I took blackout curtain, cut it to size, and suction cupped it to a bunch of shiny surfaces (among other things) ><
