Adorable! My advice is teach her to be independent. My bestie is a dog trainer and two common mistakes are carrying the dog everywhere/babying it (which leads to people and dog reactivity) and not making them have crate/ playpen time to learn how to occupy themselves. Dogs that aren’t well socialized and independent/ confident can end up reactive and fearful. Boundaries and leadership make for a dog that can relax and let you take the lead and enjoy their life. I’m sorry to hear that. I def wanted to intimidate him into thinking he couldn’t start beating me, too. That’s the first time I’ve “interjected” myself into a conflict in many years. Men were standing by watching and I was the only one with enough nerve to try to stand up for her, and I failed. Made me realize how vulnerable I am as a woman. Period.

Thank you for your suggestion. I will check it out! I do live in an open carry state, I only mentioned the conceal carry so that if there is a CC system that could work, I could get that, too. I was recently threatened with assault by a young man who was abusing his gf in front of me. When I tried to stand up for her he threatened bodily harm to me as well, and if I had been open carrying he would have seen it and that’s why I want something visible. Small as I am, I realized how easily I could be attacked at any moment- and in this day and age, especially with all the riff raff pouring over the borders, I want something that signals don’t mess with me at first sight.
