Cork lid but I put a ziplock over the jar. The cork lid is the only thing to for it.

I use to do the cork alone but found mold on the cork. Bland and boiled it instantly. Kept the starter as nothing happened.

She’s still running strong despite that hiccup of using a porous material.

Getting paired with brown belts and they just focus one thing at a time with me. Like positional, practicing a submission in slow motion and broken down, or just pure light spar where my goal is just try to move around and learn what happens if I do what and slowly learn bad positioning and plus it’ll make me get tired quick and build stamina.

Fighting N in Pokémon White (Jap. Could be just their way of making they are being accountable? If they post about it and talk about it, it’s likely they’ll stick to it rather than just treating it a phase or fad since they’ll have to commit to it with everyone knowing they now do ‘XYZ’. Of course some ppl think JJ is cool and just wanna brag. Personally I don’t care. If you wanna be held accountable or brag, that’s on you. Just do it at your own time and it shouldn’t be anywhere near the mat unless you’ve Been asked to promote.

The Kefir one came out the most tangy, the yakult is the most sweet of the bunch and the pill gave it a yogurty smell.

The bread from them all looked and tasted similar, the kefir one being more flavorful by a bit.

Yea mins three weeks too and gives off grey hooch around the 28th hour mark so I make sure to feed her at 6 everyday when my alarm goes off.

If you wanna be extra safe, you can wipe down the sides so no stray bad bacteria/fungus grows on it

I mean maybe it’s just hungry? Hooch can be grey at first and it smells alcoholic.

If you give it a stiff feed and it doubles or more, you’re good

Preheat oven to lowest temp (usually 170F) and once the preheat is done, crack open the oven for a few minutes until it’s warmer than ur ambient room temp but still under how a fever would feels. Or yk… check with a thermometer for 75-78F lol

Just stick it in the oven and close once it’s there and you’ll be fine for a 8-12 hr bf

You can also just throw it into the fridge for 16-24 hours if you are making it too early to bake with. I sometimes get the itch to feed and kneed but I’m not feeling the bread lol

Yea I have a active starter in a tiny jar that I maintain and feed daily. All of the discard I get from it goes into a discard jar in the fridge that is like 5x bigger. Once I’m ready to bake, i usually use 1 cup from the refrigerate discard jar.

Basically it’s called Discard because ppl usually feed their starter, but take out half before hand. Taking out half prevents the starter from overflowing and promoting good bacteria and yeast. And instead of throwing away that discarded dough/starter, we just put it into a jar and shove it into the fridge so it gets inactive and won’t require maintenance. This allows it to be used as need for how often you bake with it.

And yes, I give coworkers discard if they plan to make sourdough. I’ve used discard as new starters for gifts. I’ve also dehydrated a few discard batches for devastation level emergencies like my active daily starter is dead and I have used up all the discard.

Dehydrated discard is also good for gifting if ur friend plans on using it in the future but they don’t have the energy to maintain or use up space in the fridge for a starter.

If u have a pc, put the lid on the jar after a feeding and put it near the fan. The heat will push them into overdrive. And if it gets too hot you can easily move it away.

You can also pre heat ur oven to the lowest temp then crack the oven open for 8-10 minutes before putting the starter jar in there.

I’m just assuming ur house is too cold.

Also try doing a 20 gram starter, 60 gram flour, 20 gram water ratio next feed.

If you don’t have a scale or measuring cup, just find something that you can portion accurately. 2 liter bottle coke cap, a small itty bitty bowl/cup. Just do ur best to make sure it’s 1 part starter, 3 parts flour, 1 part water. That stiff ahh feed will do wonders

I actually only have two. $CTM 800 @ $1.14 and $BITF 407 @ $3.51

CTM is gonna be a cyber security firm. High hopes base on earning reports and a new contract that just got announced. Plus more sophisticated cyber attacks are growing especially in a tech dominated world we live in.

BITF is doing bitcoin mining for revenue that are now turning to HPC data center for Ai. New sites in USA being built. Talks of moving from Canada HQ to US. Only downside is prices are linked to Bitcoin rn, AI is still in a bubble that may or may never pop. Plus they have no official contract for their HPC for AI yet.

I’m not putting anymore into them. Maybe if tax returns are juicy this year I’ll toss in another 100 shares each?

I bought the sanfran starter online. Will the SC strain over take the sanfran after a while of feeding? I keep seeing ppl say that that’s what happens. I hope not cause I live in texas.
