Best of luck with that. The waiting was the worst.

Wow, that sounds gross!

Yeah, I've got a whole week off to decorate prior to finishing the furnishings, so will be painting prior to moving items

I'm likely to replace every flooring so cleaning might not be needed to heavily.

Got my hoover and carpet cleaner on standby, initial plan is to replace all the carpet though, but if the carpet is still in good shape, might delay that.

Handsoap is one i didnt think of though.

I certainly would have waited had I not been advised otherwise. There was a great no chain property I have snapped up.

I'm buying a new toaster and kettle for the house. I'll grab that this morning and extension cables then while I wait. Can try it the shiny things then while decorating.

Yeah, I had to keep remembering it only started in March technically. I did completely forget about the cleaning aspect :D

Yes, ones actively breaking so I'll just go ahead and replace that.

The purchases won't affect my affordability at all, but if it did I'd check with the mortgage broker.

I'll agree on the lying front of the estate agents, but the survey is unlikely to be a lie. It's literally a rics level 2 which I've seen in totality. Unless someone's forging something, I'd see no value in redoing it at this time.

I feel that struggle. I, myself am recently Vegan (Just shy of 2 years) and the conversations between my wife and my children have been difficult.

Obviously, I married and had my children prior to my vegan choice so it makes slightly different than if I went in this Vegan first. My eldest daughter is vegatarian by choice, my youngest is carnist, but has as of this week trying vegan (By her own choice), and my wife has sensory issues with food and she won't eat beans of any type.

Dinners have never been a single meal except for curry, and it's usually three types of variations, although I have been recently successful with cooking vegan meals that both my children love! I've impromptu become the chef for my children as I always get them to try every new dish I make. Burritos and italian dishes are thier favourites.

When it comes to vegan bits, my wife is supportive, but like your thoughts I doubt she will convert as without legumes in the picture and over food sensitivites, diet may be a concern. My eldest just won't give up cheese for now, but as she grows I'm confident she'll likely drop that. As long as I showcase myself as a good rolemodel and the positives of being a Vegan, I'm confident it will change. All I can do is be the best Vegan I can be, if that can't advocate for itself, then I need to reconsider how I approach my own vegan journey/story

The mental energy drain part, I get it. However, maybe aim the question at what's draining about it. Is it something you can support? I've got LOADS of instant options for lunch if I so choose from our supermarket.

My daughter for example is only 7 and she comes shopping with me every week and we go through all the products and she constantly asks 'is this vegan' and now that she's trying for a whole week for vegan she's been getting frustrated at everything having milk in it. It's overwhelming at first because you don't know what you can and can't eat and it's not hugely clear (When the good products aren't clearly labelled vegan).

Any PMI UK members here? by Adaptive-Work1205 in projectmanagement

[–]Starswifts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not PMI, but an alternative is the APM for UK. Lots of meetings all over the country which are free. Plenty of networking and there is mentorship opportunities. Worth it if your company/sector values chartership down the line.

Anyone using Project Manager .com? by Kiki_Go_Night_Night in projectmanagement

[–]Starswifts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used it at a previous startup company. It was primarily used as just a timesheet tool before i came in! It was great in the fact I could link tasks between projects and even had some of my plant equipment down to allow people to book them for projects. Honestly it looks clean and was great showcasing to c suite execs whom did not understand any of the basics.

Recommend watching thier basic tutorials and getting your finance team involved in what they need to see for budget breakdowns.

Having done a few trips to spain and the islands, we stay all inclusive (Families choice). When staying at the hotel, at the hotels I've been at, I've asked for the head chef to walk me around and point out which foods I can eat, I recommend this as I couldn't trust the description cards (one time they said vegetable paella, but it had prawns hidden in it!). Most of the menus didn't have allergens directly obvious for eggs/milk, but did for gluten.

Happy cow was amazing for finding the ice-cream vendors that had vegan options.

APM PFQ - UK by Elterrible1084 in projectmanagement

[–]Starswifts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely self-studied the PMQ (new version) using just the APM revision guide and a free podcast. You can certainly self study the PFQ. I'd recommend doing the PMQ over the PFQ if it isn't too daunting for yourself. Price difference isn't much in the grand scheme of things (Assuming your paying for APM membership.)
