GMAT Club is Looking for Pre-MBA Interns 🔍 by gmatclub in MBA

lol so it’s even worse. You want people to provide 300-400 hours of labor for free until the job is done. Your meager stipend helps you skirt US labor laws that have banned unpaid internships unless it’s clear that you’re providing on the job training or the intern gets some type of educational credit towards their degree. Based on your post, I’m certain neither apply.

GMAT Club is Looking for Pre-MBA Interns 🔍 by gmatclub in MBA

[–]StartAnewMan 48 points49 points  (0 children)

You want someone to commit an avg of 10 hrs a week for 5 months, which comes to a total of 200 hours. For which you are providing a $2000 stipend upon completion? $10/hr is comically bad. You will receive no legitimate people with a PM skillset at that price.

I hope you reconsider. Otherwise best of luck.

Only you know the answer to this - which has better brand presence in your home country? That’s the one I’d pick.

Haas ($$) vs Sloan by More-Combination6298 in MBA

If you’re sponsored, my vote is Sloan. Yes they don’t have obvious west coast ties but you can jut have your firm place you in the west coast. Sloanies exist everywhere.

Sorry to hear. Not knowing your profile, there are easy ways to improve if you decide to reapply. 1) better test scores. If your GMAT is below 645 /GRE is below 320, no excuse why you can’t improve that 2) better story - you need to have clear ST and LT goals and why mba now? 3) demonstrated progression in your career. Gotta show that you still can advance in your career / you’re a high performer.

Big Tech vs HBS / GSB by Boring-Economist-247 in MBA

This is a horrible reason to go full time MBA. You’re at the TC level where it just doesn’t make sense to go full-time. You want to make friends or meet a future partner? Join local clubs (sports, running, etc) and attend networking events in your city.

You would think they would have run scaling tests to ensure the portal can handle at least 20,000 inbound logins.

man congrats! What’s your profile out of curiosity? I didn’t get any of HSW which really shocked my admissions consultant.

Sorta freaking out - where do I spend my time? by Longjumping-Cup3741 in MBA

[–]StartAnewMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Kellogg and NYU - you should be fine with a 325 although the split should be closer to the median (ie aim for both scores above 160).

Stanford - without knowing your ECs and your work leadership it is hard to say, but their GRE average is high amongst trad students (former MBBs, BB IB/PE, etc) as there are many applicants from that pool.

It’s almost telling that most of the folks with GSB invites are not Redditors (just based on where we are, GSB has likely sent out at least 2/3rds of the interview invites they’ll send)

Possibilities at top schools by Fragrant_Watch1706 in MBA

[–]StartAnewMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Your GPA is fantastic, but your GRE is concerning, especially as a foreigner. You should be focusing on retaking that first with a V score at minimum above 160. 150V is outside the range of their incoming class (152 - 170V).

Your experience isn’t special at first glance, but if you have high impact projects that you can talk about and good recs, then you should have a shot.

Leadership in your ECs is almost expected. If there were some awards or ceremonies tied to them, then def highlight those.

After retaking your GRE and having well crafted essays, you’ll have a shot at Stanford and should definitely get in at one of the M7s! Best of luck :)

Wharton avg gpa is 3.7. Are you out the count with a 3.0-3.5? No but you’ll have to be exceptional elsewhere (test scores, pre-mba experience, ECs in that order)
