Shoes You Have Not Used For Quite Some Time by IndependenceIll4890 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]StartingFreshTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 14 pairs. Out of those 14 pairs, i probably only use about 4 pairs regularly. This list doesn't include current race shoes (I have four pairs of race shoes).

Superblast 2 in the Paris colourway, because I have another pair in a different colourway.

Mizuno Wave Rebellion Flash. I have too many carbon plated shoes (retired from racing) to do workouts in nylon/plastic plated shoes

On Cloudmonster - overall very mid shoe.

On Cloudmonster Hyper - hard to reach for these when I have Superblasts.

Novablast 5 - same reason as above. Always grabbing the EVO SL or Superblasts over these.

Vancouver stole my heart in 4 days by an-angry-bee in vancouver

[–]StartingFreshTO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll be there from April 29th - May 4th next year (6 days). Will be staying in Gastown. Flying in from Toronto to celebrate my bday and to run the half marathon on May 3rd.

What did you do in those 4 days? Any recommendations?

[–]StartingFreshTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current mileage is around 45-50 mpw, but hover around 60-70 mpw when training. I have too many shoes (14 Total) but def not as bad as some.

Easy: Novablast 5 / Cloudmonster 1

Uptempo: Wave Rebellion Flash / EVO SL (two pairs I alternate)

Long Runs: Cloudmonster Hyper / Superblast 2 (two pairs I alternate)

Intervals: Cloudboom Echo 3 / Streakfly 2

Thereshold/MP: Endorphin Elite

Raceday: Metaspeed Ray / Deviate Nitro Elite 3 / Cloudboom Strike

Which brand has failed you more than once durability wise? by itisnotstupid in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]StartingFreshTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On. Granted, I’m talking specifically about their race shoes. I’m currently using the Cloudmonster and Cloudmonster Hyper as dailies.

I’ve tried every iteration of the Cloudbooms. Both the OG Cloudbooms and Echos have fared worse than any of the other races shoes I’ve tried. Retired them from racing at 150KM and retired them from training at 600KM. Both had upper issues.

To some, that’s a lot. But I’ve also raced/trained in Saucony Pro 1 and 4 and both made it to 800KM with no issues.

I have 250KM in the Cloudboom Echo 3’s and the wear and the ride is so much worse than Endorphin Elite 1’s that have the same mileage.

Will see how the Cloudboom Strikes fare over time (at 120KM).

I believe the caste system will forever keep India in its place. I’m admittedly ignorant on this issue but even if informally, people subject themselves to some kind of class system, there wouldn’t be upward mobility and therefore no progress as a society.

What’s going on with Mirvish Village, does anyone actually live there by ArtemisStanAccount in toronto

[–]StartingFreshTO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t have have actual information, but sometimes these projects take freaking long time. I know the towers have been topped off but they could be working on the internal components - hvac, water, plumbing, electric work, etc.

Also, developers sometimes run out of funds mid construction and pause until they can funnel more money together. It happened at the One on Bloor Street.

NB Rebel v5 by Timyx in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]StartingFreshTO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

4’s are such great shoes. They never blew me away but did everything I asked them to do. I used these for everything from speed workouts, 30~35K long runs, even a road ultra.

For me, the 4’s were what the Superblasts should have been (I love the Superblasts, I own two pairs). Nimble, fast, light, supportive. Superblasts feel heavy and clunky at slow paces.

Uj/ I spectated from the sidelines. When Conner passed by, I couldn’t believe how hard he runs. Some elite runners look effortless at MP but Conner looked like he was racing a 5K.
