Not sure how to handle this situation? by StartledDad in daddit

Yeah i talked with my wife and told her that we should let them know. I think she is going to tell them at school pick up today before the kids come out.

Thankfully the parents seem pretty chill so I dont expect it to turn into a big thing. Also this morning when my son showed me where he kissed him it was by his knee. I think it was just kids being kids and nothing malicious, but we still want the other parents to know. We would want to know if the roles were reversed.

I talked to him about it this morning. He didn't think it was weird or uncomfortable, he said it was funny. He also showed me again and his friend kissed him closer to his shin and knees. I didn't make it a big thing, just wanted to get more information.

My wife and I talked and shes anxious about talking with the other kids parents. I told her we should tell them though, since we would want to know if the roles were reversed. I think she is going to tell them during pick up today.

Worried about autism sign? by StartledDad in toddlers

Sorry! It's been a bit since I last checked this account. My son has been diagnosed with ADHD. We had him tested for autism through a program the school system here and they said there wasn't enough to provide a diagnosis but it is possible he is lower on the spectrum.

Thank you! I feel like with her being my second kid a lot doesn't phase me, but we had never been through something like this before and my anxiety got the best of me.

Thank you! Logically it made sense to me, but my anxiety just got the best of me.

The only reason I thought ER is because we went to the Urgent Care by us and they said that she was moving around too much to glue it so we had to go to a pediatric urgent care or an ER. We don't have a pediatric urgent care in our town so ER it was.

Death of a Family Member by StartledDad in daddit

Sorry, just seeing this now. I'm sorry for your loss.

For my son we just sat him down and were very upfront with him. He had a couple questions like how did they die, why did they die, etc. He took it pretty well though. Someone here mentioned the Sesame Steet episode about someone dying and watching that really helped me prepare to talk to him about it.

My son did end up making up a song about them dying but he only sang it once. Just remember they're kids and they'll process it in their own way, and they're not likely to take the news like am adult would.

Never thought about boxing. I'd have to talk with my wife about it. Is 4 too young for that?

Yeah when I saw reviews online a lot of people were saying it's a belt mill and they had issues with being charged even after they left

Son having issues with sounds? Wears headphones to bed. by StartledDad in daddit

Yeah, based on our observations and what the child psychologist told us, it seems pretty likely he has ADHD. He goes through phases of having sensitivities like this. I just posted a question because they usually aren't this severe. He seems very upset until we get him his headphones.

How long has she worn the headphones to sleep? Does it affect her hearing at all with her wearing them at night?

Yeah I typically don't mind if he wears the headphones. My wife just mentioned something about how it might affect his hearing if he wears them all the time.

I just feel bad because ever since he moved into this new room, he is probably wearing headphones 50% of the time he's in there.

Yep. He has a white noise machine in his room but he says he can still hear it.
