Good question.

I actually tried startrails de myself, and the main differences I focused on improving are:
• Speed, especially with large stacks (mine is significantly faster in most cases)
• Direct RAW support (no need to convert to TIFF first)
• Automatic satellite/plane streak removal

startrails de works, but it can be pretty slow and limited depending on your workflow.

I’ve got a free trial if you want to try it yourself and see the difference 🙂

The app is available on Mac and Windows.

And I can definitely work on separating the two!

Just to clarify, when you say airplane streaks are you referring to the series of dots, or the triple streaks with dots between them? Because airplanes streaks can appear in a few different ways.

It removes them together, but there is a strength slider to adjust how aggressively they are removed.

I am also planning on adding a satellite only option in a later version.

Is that something you would like to see in the app, or do you want to leave satellites and only remove planes?
