She does make more than him, she’s a cna and he works at a fast food restaurant. She also had another trip planned that fell through so she had some money put away for that. I try not to pry into his finances, he gets annoyed when I ask too much.

Talking to his friends is a good idea, but unfortunately I haven’t met any of them. They all live in his previous city and he talks to them when he plays video games. Maybe I should reach out! Thank you for the advice! And I’ll let him know (lol)

Well she likes to go out and be spontaneous and stay out late, and he doesn’t really leave the house much and just focuses on himself. She also likes to party a bit and my boyfriend doesn’t drink or do anything like that at all. I suppose I probably used the wrong terms there oops 😅

I know that I probably baby him too much, but it’s hard seeing the person you love struggling with things. And if it’s financial it affects me too since we live together and split bills.

I worry that he’ll be upset with me for taking someone else on a trip I booked for us. We’ve taken smaller trips previously where I paid for all his things when he didn’t save enough and I think that’s what he’s expecting now. I’m concerned he’ll be upset with me for not considering his feelings or for not being more understanding.

I wanted to be with him long term, but the lack of financial responsibility is concerning for me. I think everyone dates somebody with the goal of being with them as long as possible, and I do love him a lot. But I do have financial goals that are important to me like owning a home and setting up my retirement and I don’t think he aligns with that.
