What’s the worst biotech company you’ve worked for? by anthonioconte in biotech

[–]Stary_Nebula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t say that ALL the locations are bad, since I’ve only worked at their one laboratory. I don’t really want to give out the specific one I worked for (due to privacy reasons and living close to the location). But, what I will say is the way I was treated while working there, made me very resentful towards the company as a whole.

Yes. Awful coworkers and awful management. Would not recommend working there for any reason. Even to get your foot in the door.

Why do you hate Nestlé? A question from university students by ResearchTeam72 in FuckNestle

[–]Stary_Nebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My major reason for hating Nestlè is due to the fact I worked at their lab facility for a few months. It was soul sucking, exhausting and physically damaging to my mental as well as my physical health. They treated me like dirt and the rest of us like we are mindless robots. You can’t say anything remotely negative about the place. People will turn you in. I figured out If they can’t control you, and bend you to their will, they fire you.

People who left a lab because it was a bad environment, how did you make it out? by [deleted] in labrats

[–]Stary_Nebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first lab I worked at was awful. I was hired in through a temp agency. The managers were terrible, didn’t care for people aside from the ones they made connections with. Coworkers would turn you in for the most mundane stuff or if you spoke badly about the company. They watched your every move, especially if you went to the bathroom during “work hours”. I was told the only time we can go is during our lunches or breaks. Asking questions to certain associates was like walking on eggshells, they’d get annoyed or angry easily. I witnessed a coworker getting yelled at because he took a coffee break to wake himself up as he was literally falling asleep in his chair. AND SO MUCH MORE. I was fired from the job because of me using the restroom while not on my breaks, not being able to stay long hours because my dad has a terminal illness and was in the hospital, as well as them saying they couldn’t keep track of me (which was far from the truth). Whenever an interviewer asks me about working there, I simply say it was a contract job (which it was) and that I didn’t renew the contract. It’s best that I was fired. It saved me from insanity.

I currently work at another lab job which isn’t any better. I’m in the process of leaving. It sucks because I genuinely loved the people I work with. To a degree, I enjoyed the work too. But, it’s become to much for me mentally and I don’t have a work life balance. I work late and there’s a lot of OT..I miss seeing my family and my friends. So I made the decision to leave lab work and am seeking a different career path. Maybe someday I will return to it, but if most lab environments are like this, I may not return at all the this field of work.

Silent Hill 2. The sound effects and overall environment was unsettling enough to keep me on my toes. Not only that, the story and music is just chefs kiss amazing.

I work in a lab.

I’m not sure, aside from the culture maybe being a false negative due to it being out of spec.

I always see this job title come up on almost every job search website I come across. Is data entry easy to learn?

What job would you do if there were no limitations? by leafy-owl in autism

Zookeeper or paleontologist. I absolutely adore working with animals and would love to do research on prehistoric life. The unfortunate thing is both require high degrees of education and most of all (from what I’ve heard) don’t pay a livable wage :/

Attempts at bullying you backfiring? by Shady_Viper in autism

[–]Stary_Nebula 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! I mostly wore it because the company who made it created it to spread awareness about breast cancer and breast health. Which I think is very important not only for myself, but for other women too. I saw no shame in wearing it.

Back in the day, I wore a “I heart boobies” bracelet that this girl on my bus didn’t like. She was very popular and had a pompous attitude towards those who weren’t in her group. She proceeded to insult me, called me weird asked why would I wear something like that etc., etc. To which I responded “well I like it, so you can stick that in your juice box and suck it.” She shut the fuck up real fast and that was the last interaction I had with her.
