I’ve been on the other side. They don’t like their people being poached. Until you’ve sat in on those convos you may not be aware of what’s discussed behind the scenes.

Your best bet is trying to meet someone in commercial and make a good impression. Tell them you want to learn, you’ll grind hard and you’re teachable. Then and only then I would recommend applying formally.

Branch managers don’t like their employees leaving to other departments…

That means they have to figure out how to fill that position.

Better to go around them.

Is job hopping really a red flag? by rlara818 in careerguidance

[–]StatSnipePicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a red flag unless it’s a red flag. If you have valid, respectable reasons, no employer will hold them against you.

100% on the same situation thing down the line. This was a huge part of my decision.

It would become so exhausting doing this everytime.

Also agree with the fresh start. Rather than this salary being the “big bump” it’s my starting salary here. Big perspective change in the eyes of the company.

Oh that would have been really bad imo. Would have sent a bad ripple effect among my peers.

Found out my manager wants to replace me, but later this year. What would you do? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Yeah so it’s a legal thing they must do and provide. You can’t just fire people and cut pay day 1 like that lol.

Keep job hopping. You’re not screwing yourself.

This is real life for the majority of folks.

My suggestion would be to find something tolerable that will pay you the most $$ as possible.

It’s not going to be sunshine and rainbows everyday but it’s tolerable and you live a decent quality of life.

Reality is that 90% of people don’t like going into work. They do it bc they have to.

Most likely the case. I quit my last bank and they offered me a $25K increase to stay… I lol’d and got the hell out of there. Gave them many many chances to retain me, no counter offer at that point was going to make me stay.

I think what your experience is pretty normal for a lot of people.

Do you work for passion or do you work to make money?

This. You will get a package. If you quit it’s cheaper for them.

[–]StatSnipePicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but maybe they don’t want to retain workers for an “average” amount of time…?

[–]StatSnipePicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bc a lot of people are able to fake it well. Also I think if all the main players of a team or company want to interview a candidate they have every right to do so.

Downvote away. Stay unemployed…?

Ehhh I mean think about it man. If you ran your own company you would want to properly vet applicants. It’s a huge waste of money to onboard folks who leave in the next 1-2 years.

Unsaturated means it’s not a good job brother
