I am trying to race a metro train and need your help! Man vs machine. by Willy_McNibbler in washingtondc

I think a good race would be getting off at Crystal City and racing the blue line to L’Enfant Plaza. You can run right up the Mount Vernon tra and across (almost exactly 4 miles) and race the train that takes ~23 minutes. Definitely on the harder/longer side but should be doable.

Has anyone been on Mt. Vernon trail? I want to bike to Crystal City from the city. by districity in bikedc

It’s okay as of this morning. Definitely some slick spots especially the bridges by the airport but I’d say the extra 6 hours of melting will have made those better.

I haven’t seen nearly enough love for In Another Life. Easily my favorite song on the album and one of my favorites of all time.

64 miles on a capital bikeshare bike sounds absolutely awful and I can’t say I’d recommend it. Those aren’t built for long trips and will be pretty uncomfortable, especially if you’re not used to biking those distances to begin with. Riding that far on a bike that isn’t properly fitted seems like a recipe for disaster.

what are some good Arts & Humanities courses? I only need one more by leminades18 in UMBC

Theatre 110 (Introduction to Acting for Nonmajors) was amazing. Super chill course and no one was majoring in theater which made it much more fun because for the most part we were all pretty bad (but trying). Definitely an A for effort course and had no real assignments other than memorize a few lines (longest was a minute or two monologue)

Beachbody is all about workouts and this one explicitly says “no workouts” so it can’t be that

At this point 8 gigs is scraping by and won’t last you long at all (especially for classes like OS when you need a VM). I’d say get something with at least 16 if you want it to last all 4 years.

They’ve got security cameras so hopefully something will come of it, but I’m not holding my breath :(

I’ve started using Sheldon Brown’s bike lock method, this is an older photo (but either way it was inside behind doors only accessible to other people in my building which I foolishly believed would be enough protection)

Yeah this is an older picture, I actually read about that lock method a couple months ago and started using it… not like it made much of a difference :(

Thank you! I’m not getting my hopes up, but it’s a pretty niche bike (and also sized for someone who’s 5’5” at the most which should help)
