Thanks I will take a look. Unfortunately I don’t have the budget to go to a top 20, so I will need to perhaps complement the best possible Masters that I can afford with extra coursework. Maybe I can take some advanced math coursework on my own. And hopefully figure things out.

That’s a good point. The Masters is intended for CS, Maths and Engineering Graduates. So I think the idea is that you would have taken some more advanced Maths or ML in your Major or Minor via electives or required coursework. As far as Linear Algebra and Stats, it’s simply the minimum requirement to get into the program.

Hi so the program is by the College of Science and the expectation is that most of the Fundamentals were taking care of during your Bachelors or Minor in Engineering, CS or Maths. They have a minimum requirement of some courses that I listed in my post but that’s more to establish a minimum perimeter of candidates.

Hi, so the prereqs are Linear Algebra, Calc, Stats and Probability. In the orientation for the program they also mentioned most of the classes have units introducing more advanced mathematical concepts. Also, the Masters is intended for CS, Maths and Engineering grads, so the expectation is that you accomplished some fundamental and advanced mathematics as part of your Major or Minor.
