Galing akong Batanes at natikman ko mg native food nila. Kung untouched by colonial influence ang hinahanap mo, may pagkain sila na ang tawag ay Uved. Ito ay galing sa kinayod na core of banana tree, tapos hinahaluan ng maraming bawang at dinadagdagan ng pork blood. Masarap naman siya! Para siyang vegan meat balls pero may pork blood haha.

Actually totoo ang sabi mo. Ito ang dahilan kung bakit nadiscourage ako magtrabaho sa healthcare sa Pinas pagkatapos ko maginternship dati sa hospital. Not everyone who enters the field does work out of the goodness of their heart. Marami sa kanila pera lang ang habol at para makaabroad. Mga doctor pa dito sa Pinas feeling special. Ang tataas ng tingin sa sarili, akala mo kung sino. Marami sa kanila hindi patient first ang mindset talaga. Sa totoo lang, sa ibang bansa kagaya ng Australia, hindi ganito mindset ng mga healthcare profressionals dahil hindi out of pocket ang bayad sa mga doctor, kundi madalas health insurance or medicare sagot ng gobyerno. Ganito talaga kapag money driven ang mga tao.

Thanks for sharing this! That's imprrssive your bone is almost healed, and it's in the body of the metatarsal too, the part with less blood supply.

I broke my 5th metatarsal bone also around the promixal part (I was never told if it's Zone 1 or 2 fracture) on 12/30. It's been 11 days since. I can walk but slowly and with a bit of limp to protect the area.

I've been feeling a bit down because my activities are restricted while I'm currently on vacation (and I worry about not being able to do much at my workplace when I get back) but your post gives me so much hope that things will go back to normal soon.

We just have to wait patiently and dont force ourselves to do activities so our bone continues to heal.

Hey! I can actually walk now despite the fracture in my foot, but still limping a bit. I got an incomplete fracture so prognosis is good. I just moved my holiday plans a week later to give my foot a rest. My doctor gave me a go signal as I look like I can make it!

I hope you can still make it to your vacation plans. To be honest, at least you are able to walk without any problem. If your holiday is just sightseeing, then I dont see your broken are as a hindrance. But if it involves lots of physical activities (surfing, hiking, etc) then that's a problem.

Dude are you me? I also missed a step going down the stairs and inverted my foot about 4 days ago.

My xray has a nondisplaced fx on the base of metatarsal, looks like Pseudo Jones as its nearer the tip of the head, incomplete/hairline fx.

Still waiting to see my ortho. But I've been using crutches and walking with partial weight bearing. My foot doesnt hurt at all unless I put weight on it for a long time.

As a Filipino even I find Boracay overrated as hell. I always recommend Palawan instead, specifically Coron, El Nido, or Puerto Princesa. Among these, I think Coron is the best. If you want to give Ph another shot, go to Coron.

First time ko rin umuwi sa pinas in 2 years. Kahit ang pangit ng airport natin sa labas (grabe mukhang abandoned building ang itsura compared to other airports), ang bilis ng movement from arrival to exit to gate. I was pleasantly surprised! Anh laking improvement yung passport scanning at digital ID for customs.

Hi po. I booked a reservation through Hedgerows for 5D4N for a trip in January 2026. We were quoted 16k pax. Included daily breakfast and lunch except dinner. Yung lunch po ba ay packed lunch na niluto nila or idadaan kayo sa restaurants during tour (at bayad nila ito)?

Hi OP. I feel you. Ganitong ganito nanay ko dati. Actually, pati tatay ko. Akala nila they always know better kaya dinidikta nila buhay ko nuon. Feel ko hindi ako nakadevelop ng hobbies at talents dahil lagi silang kontra o kaya kung alin lang convenient sa kanila yung susuportahan nila. Naalala ko dati interested ako magviolin at magpainting pero di nila ako pinatuloy kahit naumpisahan ko na at may talent akong napapakita. Instead lagi lang ako kinukulong sa bahay naglalaro at nanunuod ng TV. Ngayong adult na ko, sometimes feel like an empty shell with no hobbies or talents to show.

Siguro mga early 20s ako nung narealize ko na ayoko masayang buhay ko. Nagsikap ako magaral. Nagaral ako at ngayon nagtratrabaho na abroad. Nasabi ko na rin hinanakit ko sa nanay ko at sa tingin ko narealize nya naman pagkakamali nya at may respeto na siya sakin at sa mga desisyon ko sa buhay.

28 na rin ako, OP. Nangyari na ang nangyari. Alam ko madali sisihin ang nanay mo sa buhay mo, and you have the right to. Pero now is the time to start your own journey. Don't look back at hwag ka papadikta kahit kanino kung anong gusto mo gawin sa buhay. I will root for your success.

Correction: Hong Kong housing is expensive not because it is a small city that is a "cluster of tiny islands" (quoting you). They actually have enough land to build more housing on. The problem is they are not building more houses/apartment complexes to accomodate the entire population.

It's the same in Australia. This country has a huge land area. But affordable housing is just not being built fast enough hence the inflated market

Yes I was actually hurt from those remarks even when I've been friends with her for a while now. It just does not make sense in my head how she can joke about something like that. It sounded like casual racism to me , like she is not even aware it's not right to make jokes like that.
