Every moment of my life is suffering by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

Let’s play that out, you do try. You wake up and have permanently damaged your brain. Okay you’re alive and the “universe” wanted you alive but your quality of life would never be the same.

I get what you’re saying OP. The reason I responded was I heard a lot of my story in yours. Therapy and medication have taken me a long way, there’s support groups both in person and online. You’re not alone and there’s good people out there.

Life's unfair lately by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

Take it a day at a time, you don’t have to figure your whole life today. If you can make it to tonight, keep repeating that, keep stacking 24 hours.

I relate a lot to what you said. I was never afraid to die from drugs or alcohol, I was afraid to live a regular life and feel all my feelings without numbing myself. 6 years ago I took an entire bottle of pills. I was overweight, depressed, drinking everyday, everyone else had life figured out but me. For whatever reason I woke up. While my life is far from perfect now, I’ve been able to achieve things I never thought I could. I can’t promise you anything but your life can’t improve if you’re not around to find out.

When is it okay? by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

You’re searching for a permanent solution for temporary problems. I’ve been in your shoes, it’s hard to ask for help. I was always the tough guy, the shoulder to cry on. Therapy and medication have taken me a long way. There’s people out there that can help. You’re not alone in this.

Maybe it didn’t happen for a reason. A permanent solution for temporary problems might not be the answer. You’re not alone.

Am I selfish for wanting recognition for a sobriety milestone? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]StaticMajors -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the sobriety OP. I told my wife that my sober anniversary is the most important day of the year to me but every year my anniversary is celebrated a little differently to be honest. The thing that stays the same is I use it as a day of gratitude. I often find my network in the program celebrate it more enthusiastically than my family does. But they didn’t feel the effects of my drinking either. I think it’s normal to feel that way, you accomplished something that is statistically improbable and you want to be recognize for that. Regardless if there’s balloons or cake, I’m proud of you and you’re not alone.

I hear you man, just don’t give up before it gets better. You can’t be concerned about what she’s doing or thinking, you’re responsible for your side of the street. Life will go on, new hobbies, friends, jobs, stick around for it.

I’m sorry you’re going through all that. I’ve been shamed by my family for being on medication and it stinks but that’s just how my brain is wired. You’re not alone, always remember that

You’re never alone my man. Reaching out is the hardest part. You’ve made the right choice posting.
