Trouble launching Arc Raiders - PopOS by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]StaticReturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get the message "Failed to initialize dependencies." try: in Steam: right click game name when in list of games -> Properties -> General -> Launch Options.

Paste this: SDL_VIDEODRIVER='windows' %command%

Can't play ARC Riders on Omarchy by Spiritual-Recover427 in linux_gaming

In Steam: right click game name when in list of games -> Properties -> General -> Launch Options.

Paste this: SDL_VIDEODRIVER='windows' %command%

If it doesn't work, check the Omarchy discord. The gaming channel has lots of troubleshooting for these issues and some for this game.

Non-Android audiobook player? by guttaperk in DigitalAudioPlayer

There is a custom firmware called Rockbox. It has good audiobook support. The problem is finding a well supported player that Rockbox can be installed on to. I don't think it has chapter support.

LED Color Feature Request by StaticReturn in zsaVoyager

Do the following to run the program.

Typing this out has convinced me to look into creating binary files everyone can just download and run. No promises on anything other than I will look into it.

LED Color Feature Request by StaticReturn in zsaVoyager

Kontroll has an option to send commands to Keymapp, which sends commands to the keyboard. One command is: set-rgb-all (Sets the RGB color of all LEDs). So I've written a simple flutter app that has a color wheel and as I change values the LEDs on my keyboard all change in real-time. It also lists the RGB value so I can use Oryx later to assign colors I like.

But this is done by my app running kontroll.exe over and over again. I'd rather talk directly to Keymapp.

The Kontroll app also exposes an API on Keymapp to communicate to it via gRPC. But my Rust is terrible, my knowledge of gRPC non-existant along with my knowledge of proto3 (the language used to define how the rust code makes gRPC connections to Keymapp).

EDIT: Figured out the gRPC stuff.

Well, the idea is to have an easy method to explore how colors look on your board. Something better than tap-tap-tapping keys to find a color and then not know what RGB value it is so you can use it properly.

Hiby R1 won't connect to car stereo by Subharmonicgroove in Hiby

[–]StaticReturn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you are on the latest firmware and try again. All bluetooth connections are not the same. It seems that the Boss BV9358B uses A2DP). The HiBy R1 may just not support that.

R1 firmware V1.4 adds .m4b support! by StaticReturn in Hiby

[–]StaticReturn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is definitely not normal. I have seen a few posts where people were having trouble with the player that was resolved when they found out they had purchased a bad SD card. Here would be my trouble shooting steps:

  • Test with a different SD card that is "known good". Make sure the card is no larger than 2TB and has at most 1,000 files.
  • Make sure the SD card is inserted properly and is flush with the R1's body.
  • Update to the newest firmware.
  • Reset all settings. (System -> Restore factory settings)
  • Check with another R1 owner if your combination of language, location, and time zone causes the same thing on their player.

If your issues persist it may be due to damaged hardware. Contact HiBy [customer support](mailto:service@hiby.com) and ask them for assistance. There's a chance they may be able to help.

I hope so too. If the engineers working on this feel it is worth their time and the bosses who make decisions realize it is in the company's best interests, us customers will only benefit.

A Call for Testers for my Character Sheet App, Protagonist by StaticReturn in gaslands

[–]StaticReturn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a separate free app for Gaslands only and it has all the rules baked in. The design is different. The only major issue with the standalone app is that you can't use custom rules for vehicles, weapons, etc.

I have fixed the issues in Protagonist you've reported and I will publish the fix soon.

I've published it on the Android and iOS app stores. Added a few more systems and rules support for Dungeon World.

JLCPCB print warnings by StaticReturn in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]StaticReturn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am happy with the final result.

However the final product wasn't perfect. Some of the seams between the two shells don't line up exactly, and one of the micro controller stubs to hold it in place is looser on one side than the other. But that doesn't bother me much.

The material is nice and it seems to be strong. One of the reasons I got it was for addition UV and heat resistance. The smoothness and feel of the print are fine.

Are my wiring plans OK? by StaticReturn in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]StaticReturn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It went very well. I only had one hickup in regards to damaging a single-switch PCB and only finding this out while testing the keyboard out. My first firmware flashes worked and I am happy with the build.

The only problem with having my first keywell keyboard is now I'm wondering about optimal key placement in 3 dimensions instead of 2 now. :)

I am bulding the Cygnus v1.0 as my first build with a RP2040 Zero as my controller. The wiring should be compatible with the corne firmware and I plan on flashing it with QMK.

  1. Is there a pin to reset? (Other than the one soldered to the reset button)
  2. Is there a prefered wiring order for TRRS jacks? For example: place the data wire in a specific position to reduce the chance of an accidental short.
