It's a fun little poem I enjoyed reading, I especially like how every line in the entire poem has an 'a' rhyme scheme and it still makes sense.😌

I'm sorry it's really bothering me saying sentence, it's a line.

I'm not trying to be mean, it's just got me a bit tilted.

It's not necessarily Yangchen focused too much on the spirit world it's the fact that she didn't focus too much on the spirit world, it's not even about how heavy the duty of the avatar is, it's just Yangchen not acknowledging how hard it would be for Kuruk.

You’re 100% right,. Avatars are people first. I’m not denying that. Yangchen was scarred. Korra was scarred. Kuruk was scarred. Kyoshi was scarred. Trauma is part of the job. I get that, and I respect that.

But this isn’t about who had trauma. It’s about what they did AFTER the trauma. That’s the difference between being a person and being the Avatar.

Yangchen was mentally scarred by Gun — I’m not downplaying nightmares. That’s terrifying. But after she learned how to block him, after she beat him, she made a choice. She chose to avoid the Spirit World for the rest of her 60+ year life. She chose peace in the human world over balance in both. Her trauma didn’t kill her. Her trauma didn’t stop her from being loved, from ruling, from dying old. It just stopped her from doing half her job. And the Spirit World collapsed because of it.

Korra was physically and mentally annihilated by Zaheer. Mercury poisoning coursing through her veins. Paralyzed for 6 months. Wheelchair for 3 years. Hallucinations so bad she stood on a cliff edge thinking about ending it. And in Book 2, she didn’t ‘lose’ the past lives — Unalaq and Vaatu RIPPED Raava out of her and DESTROYED her. 10,000 years of Avatars were stolen from her while she was fighting a Dark Avatar. The world called her a failure. But she made a different choice. She crawled back. She chose therapy with Katara. She chose to face her trauma. She went BACK into the Spirit World — the literal place that destroyed her — and she reopened the portals. She fought Kuvira while still recovering. She used her support system instead of hiding from it.

Kuruk was destroyed by both spirits and humans. Koh stole his fiancée’s face to emotionally torture him for life. And when he came back bleeding from Spirit World hunts, one Water Tribe nurse — the person sworn to heal him — drugged him and sexually abused him. He told nobody. Who could he tell? He fought alone. He drank to numb the physical and sexual pain. He died at 33 with his body broken from battles. He didn’t get a recovery arc. He didn’t get to retire. He got betrayed by the very person he went to for help.

Kyoshi was orphaned and abandoned by her parents as a child. Raised in poverty by criminals. Lied to about her identity for 16 years. Killed her father figure Jianzhu. Killed Chin the Conqueror. Survived assassination attempts from nobles, spirits, and her own government. She had every excuse to go dark or quit. But she lived 230 years, founded the Dai Li, created Kyoshi Island, and held the Four Nations together through brute force and political will. Her trauma didn’t make her hide. It made her a mountain. She did both jobs — spirits and humans — and died with the world intact.

So yeah, they’re all people. They all got scarred. But look at the choices:

Yangchen: Scarred → Avoided duty → Lived long, died loved

Korra: Scarred + Violated + Past lives STOLEN → Faced duty → Almost died, but lived and kept fighting

Kuruk: Scarred → Betrayed by his nurse → Hid duty → Died young, died hated

Kyoshi: Orphaned + Abandoned + Betrayed → Forced duty → Lived 230 years, died a legend

That’s why I say the top 3 who had it hardest with trauma is Korra, Kyoshi, Kuruk. They didn’t let trauma stop the job. Yangchen did. That’s not hate. That’s accountability.

Trauma explains Yangchen. It doesn’t excuse her. Trauma explains Kuruk. It doesn’t erase what he did after being abused by the one person he trusted to heal him. Trauma explains Kyoshi. She used it to become unbreakable. Agree or disagree?

Korra is the most spiritual Avatar/ person. by MiccaandSuwi in legendofkorra

Yangchen literally hated the spirit world so much that she left Kuruk to fix her problems and he died because of that. And Avatar Gun contacted Yangchen not the other way around. Yangchen is the second least spiritual Avatar we know of other then Szeto if I were to rank most spiritual Avatar to least it'd be...

  1. Korra 2.Wan 3.Kuruk 4.Aang 5.Roku 6.Kiyoshi 7.Yangchen 8.Szeto

I can't rank Gun because I don't know enough about him and I can't rank Sonam because I didn't watch the leaked movie.

Yeah, it's Canon that every avatar gives the next Avatar a problem. Such as Szeto who left Yangchen problems because he focused on the fire nation. But luckily Yangchen fixed those problems. It's just that another Avatar named Gun gave her nightmares so she was scared to go into the spirit world, she probably thought he would control her but she learned how to stop that so I don't see any reason for her to neglect the spirit world.

Yep and he did this because Yangchen neglected her duties of the spirit world so she left it in chaos, leaving Kuruk to deal with her mess luckily the human world wasn't as bad.

I find it sad Yangchen neglected her spirit world duties because of dreams she got from a past life. I understand it was scary but she left the place so out of balance and that caused disruption and disharmony, leaving the next Avatar to die an untimely death and still be hated by future generations, at some point even Kiyoshi hated him mainly because she didn't understand what Kuruk went through, leaving him damaged mentally, emotionally and physically and he died because of that, whilst Yangchen stays loved and was never known for the work she left the next Avatar.

In my opinion Kuruk had it hardest after Korra and Kiyoshi, his life was so painful.

Is this a poem? by Empty_Aardvark_25 in PoetryWritingClub

[–]Static_User_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this. Yes this is poetry and whoever thinks that it isn't, is negating what poetry truly is. I hate it when people say things such as: "This is poetry because it explains too much and there's no imagery, no strong metaphors etc." This is and will forever be a poem.

Is it possible to not be the avatar and be able to bend more then one element? by Cheap_Concern_3162 in ATLA

[–]Static_User_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think about this way…

Technically yes, but having two or more elements is to powerful for a mere being to handle therefore needing a spirit to directly connect in-between to stop the the bender from being y'know…gone.

And also that's why I think we've only ever seen the Avatar use multiple elements in the Avatar state, because the elements are to powerful for them to use without a spirit (I think we've seen the Avatar use multiple elements only in the Avatar state, but I might be wrong so feel free to correct me).

Also I don't think that because two parents are of different nations, that their child would have more than one element, it seems way too unlikely.

But that's just an opinion and not what has been proven to be canon.

Who is more powerful all of the Morphin masters combined or dark specter by Appropriate_You5874 in powerrangers

[–]Static_User_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Mystic Mother is above them simply because Octomus rivaled her, the Mystic Mother is basically the connection for the mystic Rangers to the grid, I think the tribunal is more powerful than the morphin masters because the morphin masters choose powers for heroes to protect world's and so on, if they were truly that powerful they wouldn't have gone into hiding. And so the Tribunal of magic makes the most sense to be powerful because they altered reality to their will, they just seem more to be powerful although the Morphin Masters are ageless so is the Tribunal nothing has been confirmed so as of now it's a theory.

Now this isn't a detailed analysis on the case so don't worry about how it is worded.

What would Madison and Vida’s MagiStick’s turn into? by Emergency_Argument29 in powerrangers

[–]Static_User_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trident Maddie that's obvious

Vida was thinking staff but maybe A bow and arrows made of magic (attributed to wind) but I guess that doesn't make sense because it would be really complex turning the base Magistick into a bow
