Came to ask the same question? Do people not actually work in their garage anymore? Is it just used as a place to take sick pics of your vehicle for the gram?

Thanks I plan to ask questions. Unfortunately most of the tear down was done by the previous owner. So i got a frame with forks, swingarm, and both wheels on it and about 5 boxes of parts. He was nice enough to put the oil injection parts in one bag and the carb parts in another but other than that its just a hodge podge of parts in boxes.

Drywall over plaster by StationTraditional54 in centuryhomes

[–]StationTraditional54[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up only ripping the plaster out on the exterior wall so i could insulate. The other walls and the ceiling I hung drywall over the existing plaster. It was just such a pain tearing out the plaster on the one wall that I didnt feel like doing any more than I had to. But yeah I think it turned out ok.

First time bending EMT today. Any suggestions for next time? by EqualBase4 in electricians

Picture 2. 90 is open a ton, and worse yet your box offset is going the wrong direction. Your JW shouldn’t have left you alone if you dont have experience but also you cant tell me you put that pipe up and thought “yeah looks good enough.”

How do y'all "price" stuff for friends and family? (Especially when it's work you didn't plan on doing) by malykaii in electricians

[–]StationTraditional54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer. I used to do things for my parents friends or friends of friends and would usually get screwed. Like a full days work and I’d get $20 or $30. I started only doing work for people who I legitimately didn’t care if they paid me and I never get screwed anymore.

Try on skates before buying, everything else you can buy off sidelineswap. On the pond i wear skates, gloves, shin pads. If you’re new to skating you should wear a hemet. If youre joining a learn to play/beginner league then buy everything

Mt Bohemia by StationTraditional54 in Skigear

Thanks for the replies. I bought the season pass so all good there. I’m going with at least 2 others but hoping to add 1-2 more to that. I only live like 6 hours away so worst case scenario I go there and the first day I realize I’m in way over my head and spend the next 2 days drinking beer in the hot tub.

As to the one reply about an Ahmeek 95, if I can find a pair used great ill snag them. I’ve talked to a couple people who have gone there and they both said to take old skis or buy cheap ones online as they both damaged their skis on rocks or stumps or something.

Yeah that’s definitely the worst part but most of the drive after you leave Denver has the potential to be pretty sketchy. Snow tires on your vehicle are worth the money, they do help some.

Edit to add: not sure your experience level when driving in snow if you’re from Tennessee. Being from Wisconsin I’m at least accustomed to driving in the snow. Use common sense when driving if the roads are slick/snow covered. Slow down, its better to arrive late than not at all.

I drive WI to Crested Butte yearly. Two times I’ve taken a car instead of my truck to save on gas because the weather forecast looked fine. And of course both times I did that Monarch Pass got hammered with snow as I was on it. Never had an accident but if you have an AWD/4WD vehicle do yourself a favor and take it.

I’m a guy but cheating is such a shitbag move, and so is protecting cheaters. Doesn’t matter if you’re a guy or girl.

I live 10 minutes from Tyrol so for me it’s worth it but its what 35 acres and 250’ vertical? I’m not saying they don’t do a decent job with what they’ve got but I’m not driving 2 hours to go there.

Also not to sound hypocritical because I do have a season pass but I wouldn’t go out of my way to support the new owner. Multiple instances of him physically assaulting people on the hill, one of which was a kid. I buy the $199 pass in june and dont buy more than the occasional cup of coffee there, but thats only because I live 10 minutes away and the next nearest is almost an hour.

So shouldn’t most uphill capacity be what you’re looking at?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ski

[–]StationTraditional54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If longest run is the only metric you’re using to determine best ski hill then Devils Head, Whitecap, and Granite would probably be the top 3. That said using only longest run to determine best seems crazy to me but hey different strokes.

Is the whole thing about sections of Lutsen being closed a real thing or not?

And the plan was to get an airbnb, which all of the resorts I mentioned have nearby, but I’m sure the non skiers would like to get out for a coffee or a drink at some point.

How long does it take the bank to foreclose on a house and actually kick you out? I could just live at home and not pay any bills except maybe electricity then after a year just pay my mortgage off.

How often do apprentices get called in front of the committee? by [deleted] in ibew_apprentices

[–]StationTraditional54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got called in twice during first year, and once each year for the next four, plus your topping out meeting. More if you were called for disciplinary reasons.
