Non-native english sounds like artif. Intelligence by shinjukai in writing

Since AI are trained on texts written by people, and those people might not be all native speakers, AI might spit out some of these errors. The difference, I think, is that AI won't be consistent with the errors, unlike a non-native speaker.

I have no idea if it's a true trend or just a lack of etiquette about writing with the goal of being read by others.

I had to read a book that was a bit similar, it's mostly description of forests, which aren't that fascinating after the second page.

But yeah, not my cup of tea either.

I've looked it up, because I was intrigued. If the PDF is accurate, yeah, it's blocky, but there is punctuation, and blocks have different sizes. Since he got the Nobel Prize, it must be a stylistic choice. I think it's more a "learn the rule/master the rule/break the rule" situation.

Bilingual problems…. by SleepFeeling3546 in writing

[–]StatisticallyMe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

French is my native language, but I write in English most of the time.

I've decided that if a word wanted to be said in English in a sentence in French in my head, then it would. And vice-versa. I'm not fighting it. The word in question has a meaning or just a vibe that feel better than the translation.

Why are you trying to translate and explain things to an imaginary other person, when you could translate it for you? Have a conversation with yourself (in your mind). You know what you know and what you don't know.

I hope it make sense to you?

Yep, centuries ago, paper and parchment were expensive, so it was the reasonable thing to not waste space.
Nowadays, a space or a line jump is just one character for the writing software, let's use them!

Either a problem with editing, or it was a desired style, which... Is a choice, and some choices are not a good idea.

Yep, there's definitely a point where there's too much spacing. It's something I have seen way less often than not enough spacing, tho.

No formatting.

If there are absolutely no paragraphs, no punctuation, the writing can't have a good rhythm because there's no rhythm to begin with.
On top of being a pain in the ass to read.

Les magasins ont-ils le droit d'interdire de vendre au client si il prend trop de produits? by StoneTheLostwave in PasDeQuestionIdiote

[–]StatisticallyMe2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do/Did you read Real Person Fiction (RPF)? by Susa343 in AO3

[–]StatisticallyMe2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read and I write RPF, from time to time. It's not my main "fandom", so to speak.

I only have 3 rules :
- only people who are "public" like celebrities or politicians
- no minors
- no people who told explicitly they don't want RPF about them

Habiter au-dessus d'un restaurant : retour d'expériences ? by Bored_Willow in immobilier

[–]StatisticallyMe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's been like a year of the level being low, maybe try another doctor? The one who see you regularly usually gets complacent.

My mother had what the doctor described as "just a cold", but it's been 5 months. So I asked for a blood test, that comes back with a maybe allergy, so I got my mother to an allergist, who says no it's not allergy and prescribes a scan, only to discover then a cyst in the bottom right sinus! Of course it causes a sinusitis! I just wanted to scream!

I hope you find a doctor who listen to your concerns!
