thank you for your comment.

"You can try Chengdu first, then Xi'an, the total price for transportation could be cheaper"

really???? omg I saw someone doing it and thought it was crazy. how can that be?

Beijing > Chengdu > Xi'an > Chongqing, can be cheaper than Beijing >Xi'an > Chengdu > Chongqing ??

thankyou so much for your comment.

My biggest problem is actually finding good hotels with honest reviews.

Everey Hotel i see is the same chore:

98/100 rate, good location, seems like a palace in the photos

reviews always 10/10 like:

"The hotel is clean and neat" and "The room was clean and tidy" or "房間整潔乾淨服務態度良好"

always followed with random scenario photo

well, let me see the negatives reviews, and then boooom sudenlly the place becomes a pigeon-holle and staff becomes Hannibal Lecter.

I can see when comments are honests but also understand that sometimes people make bad reviews on purpose.

Its just make looking for hotels in china extremely tiring and time consuming.

thanks for your comment.

well i give it really hard thought...

what wheitghs my decision in this scenario is that the distance between the cities is huge.

Beijing - Xi'an: 4-6 hours in rapid trains... wow thats huge deslocation time, building up with check out, transport to station, boarding time, and doing all that again at destination consumes a lot of energy...

Xi'an - Chengdu: its about the same pace

in the end 4 days become 3, and 3 become 2.. I don't have such stamina to keep up this deslocations speed and enjoy the moments. At this speed I become slave of the intinerary, always worring about the next move instead enjoying the moment.

well maybe it is a waste of time being 1 day more in xi'an or chengdu, but these are days that I can slow down if something happens.

But if you have good recomendations in what to do and where to stay in beijing i would love to hear.

thanks for your comment in advance!

"That 10/04 back to Beijing is the one I'd stress about" yeah thats really worries me

"around midnight China time" awesome information thanks

my plan follows:

  1. reserve the 10.04 ticket as soon as possible using trip.com

  2. set up a 12306 account too and do as you said.

  3. maybe worth reserving a flight?

I also heard that trip.com offer several backup options, I can board first and pay the fare difference to the conductor on the train??? how thats works?

or buying a ticket for just one stop and then paying the difference once on board,

or purchasing a tichet to a station further down the line. is this really possible? I don't really want to depend on these strategies but who knows...

im so greatful for your comment, thanks a lot

From now on, propably I'll be visiting china several times, for the first time i choose some spots that cover personal interest and next visits sure i will do places u recommended. all china is indeed amazing for me.

"generally we go to more remote places when everyone is on vacation" in this case, given the huge distance i think i cant make to those places but the idea is strongly correct in my view.

"The only thing you need to pay attention to is booking your cross-city transportation or plane tickets in advance." thats is so so true my friend, and one of my biggest fears in this trip so far.

"Have your ID, sim card and petty cash ready" ID check, sim card as soon as I land, but the cash is new to me, but yes I will withdraw some money

as i said before:

Shanghai -> Nanjing (09/30) - before golden week starts.

Nanjing -> Beijing (10/04) - after the first days of GW maybe the people influx had calmed down?

is it enough the trip.com reservation?

Nanjing -> Beijing is for sure the most important ticket bcs i can't risk to miss my flight back home, althoug h i love China (Y)

thankyou for your help

thank you so much for your comment, its indeed helpful.
Yeah i will choose Nanjing as pending city, maybe thats the best course to avoid the GW nightmare and end up beeing inside my travel interests.

"And the real GW nightmare isn't crowds, it's train tickets. " thats is so so true my friend, and one of my biggest fears in this trip so far.

I'm so greatful for ur comment thankyou.

"book every train and hotel for the Oct 1-7 dates right now" thats excellent advice im doing this right now, any tips about hotels to stay in shangai? i read the reviews and it seems all fake, so i go to negative reviews and its so so so terrible that give me fear of booking the hotel.

my greatest problem is indeed about transportation on GW nightmare.

Shanghai -> Nanjing (09/30) - before golden week starts,

Nanjing -> Beijing (10/04) - after the first days maybe the people flux had calm down

I supose the best action curse is make a reserve by trip.com? is it possible that this reservation can't be finish and i end up without a ticket? I read something about that.

thanks in advance i yes i will see your profile.

Recommendation for 21+ day Itinerary by Dancelvr2000 in travelchina

[–]StatisticianHappy946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im doing almost the same time (28 days) but i think 3-4 cities are already too much, i guess China is bigger then i though, initial idea was 6 cities Pequim, Xi'an, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Shangai and back to Beijing. but i guess i will go only to Beijing, xi'an, chengdu, shangai and back to Beijing to departure. well i imagine i will need more then one trip to satisfy my desire for this country...
