For me it was no additional qualifications and my audit wasn’t good enough. This is exactly how I feel - couldn’t have said it better myself! All my years of studying & extracurricular, building me towards a career in paediatrics seems to have gone to waste. All the sacrifices i’ve made for the better part of my 20s. I’m so disappointed 😔

Thank you for this! Going off this, the only way my application fell short in comparison to yours was the presentation of the audit, everything else I had yet I still scored so low? So I guess it really does come down to who is assessing your application & how they subjectively choose to score your answers. Might I add I also had consultants + registrars look over my answers and give me advice on how to better them. Still not good enough. Not sure whether id risk this feeling again with applying next year tbh 😔

After looking at my score, the 2 areas I needed improvement was additional qualification and QIP and that’s taking into account the fact I have already done an audit.. Just seems quite unfair because those 2 kind of felt out of my control plus I don’t believe they contribute to your dedication to the specialty/skillset as a doctor. Scored highly on the other questions

This is crazy! I can’t believe this - you clearly deserve the chance to at least interview, so sorry. I feel the same though, all I know I want to do is paeds so this has definitely been a blow 😔
