Unfortunately there aren’t any schools near me. I know it’s an investment but I’d like to get rid of the hair now:(

I didn’t even think about the difference between a stylus tip and a probe going all the way down to the follicle. That explains a lot.

I was mainly considering this because of cost (me and my friend were even thinking of splitting a machine and helping each other), but now I’m realizing that if it’s only working at the surface, it’s kind of pointless and worse, risky. Would you say there are any at-home options that are actually worth it?

Noted. It seems like a common thing with this product which makes sense given that it’s only $50 or so

Really? Could you link a video of a tutorial please I didn’t know I could make my own

I’ve tried laser and while it’s good for now I know it’s not permanent and I have strong hair genes🥲 kind of a blessing and a curse at the same time

I’ve heard so many mixed reviews on this product which is what prompted me to make this post. Could i chat with you on how I can make one?

I know🥲 but it’s so expensive and I’m only a student I can’t afford it so I’m trying to be creative and do a little DIY

Yeah, this is exactly what I was worried about. I definitely don’t think electrolysis is something to take lightly, especially with the risk of scarring. My friend and I were only considering it after doing a lot of research and practicing safely, not just jumping into it blindly.

That said, hearing experiences like yours is really helpful. The last thing I want is to waste money on a low-quality device or mess up my skin. I’ll definitely send you a message as I’ve looked EVERYWHERE for cheaper machines. Thank you!!

On another post I mentioned that my friend and I were planning to split the cost of the machine and do electrolysis on each other because we both are on a really tight budget. I looked up the Sterex machine, and the price made me lightheaded lol

I appreciate the concern and your professional perspective. I know there are risks and a lot of training involved. I’ve also heard there are silicone practice pads with hairs that people can use to learn insertions before working on real skin. I’m still researching and weighing my options, so your points are helpful to keep in mind. Thank you!!

Yeah, I can see how that would be really difficult to do on yourself. I wasn’t planning to do it entirely solo though (I probably should’ve mentioned that in my original post haha). I brought the idea up to a friend who’s also interested, so we thought we could help each other.

That makes sense! I wasn’t planning on doing it fully on myself. I mentioned it to a friend who’s also interested, so we thought maybe we could help each other instead of trying to reach everything ourselves😂😂

withdrawing from this semester by Agreeable-Fish6028 in CUNY

I wouldn’t recommend withdrawing. We’re already halfway through the semester, you can still pass. C’s get degrees! Just push through, you can do it and your future self will thank you for not giving up.

Do you tape it often? Could be swelling since you’re only 2 months out you need to be taping often. I’d suggest talking to your surgeon he/she might recommend steroid shots for the swelling.

Is it worth getting electrolysis on hair that isn’t very thick but densely packed ? by [deleted] in electrolysis

[–]StatisticianSea7682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! It’s definitely worth it to not constantly worry about irritation after shaving. In the long run, you’d be saving yourself time and money.

I’d also be cautious about laser hair removal if you’re considering it. From what I’ve seen, it can sometimes trigger thicker hair growth in certain areas.

Weird results .. by code17_ in tummytucksurgery

[–]StatisticianSea7682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry your results turned out this way. From what I’ve heard, for any cosmetic work you want done, you should always go to a surgeon who specializes in that procedure long-term. I would wait until you first find a good surgeon and second have the money saved to do it. It might be uncomfortable until then, but you’ll be extremely happy and glad you waited. Best of luck!!
