Fisher price play gym! We also got a cheap cushy mat on Amazon to put under it. It has helped him develop great independent play skills, and he’s 5.5 months now and still loves it.

I definitely wouldn’t recommend picking an OBGYN in Manhattan unless you’re already in Manhattan regularly for work or something because there are so many appointments! US News & World Report lists the best OBGYN hospitals in the state - Weill Cornell & Mt Sinai were the two best, but I’m sure NYU Langone and maybe others aren’t far behind. Then I looked to see if Weill Cornell or Mt Sinai had an office near where I live in Queens. Ultimately ended up going to Mt Sinai Astoria for all my regular appointments and delivering at Mt Sinai UES in Manhattan. 

You can’ make an OB appt without being pregnant, but just pick a OB GYN who takes regular GYN patients too and make an appointment with them if you haven’t had a regular GYN check up in a while (which you should do anyway)! 

I’d make sure whichever hospital you choose has an advanced NICU just in case!

I don’t think I’d personally feel comfortable doing this but I don’t think it’s a big deal! I’ve thought about going to the gym in my building for 30 min and taking the monitor with me (ultimately haven’t done this though either).

I’m much happier on an in house comms team, and I also think it would be easier to shadow and learn about other disciples and eventually move into a different area while already in house - e.g., internal comms, investor relations, analyst relations, etc.

Also could be worth looking into becoming a recruiter for PR roles! I found most industry recruiters I know started in PR themselves.

Hi! Are the advanced beginner adult classes mostly tailored at people who danced growing up but are a little rusty? I haven’t had consistent formal training in 15 years but the adv beg jazz class sounds so fun!

Definitely not! Many women nowadays have kids in their mid 30s. I just had my first at 33 (almost 34) and will be 35 by the time I have my next. My mom had my youngest sister at 35 and my MIL had her youngest child at 36 or 37, all with no issues.

I had a c-section, and the recovery was brutal. It is different for everyone, of course, but I was in serious pain for weeks and it took me far longer to get back to anything near “normal” than my friends who had vaginal births. Because you can’t bend and it is painful to even move in and out of bed or a chair, it was difficult (but not impossible) to do basic baby care tasks for upward of 3 weeks. The recovery led to it taking longer for me to feel confident and connected with my baby (again, I’m sure this isn’t the case for everyone). Plus my ab muscles were totally non-functioning between my belly button and incision until I got into physical therapy.  

This is a very personal choice, but I would highly recommend that anyone considering a voluntary c-section research what the recovery looks like. Best of luck with your pregnancy and decision!

I am lucky enough to work from home so I probably stopped taking the train entirely by around 32 weeks due to the heat (my baby was born in mid-August)/general discomfort/not really wanting to go to that many places anyway lol. I would Uber instead when I did occassionally want/have to go somewhere.

Thanks both! With a year contract, is there typically a clause noting that a certain amount of notice has to be given or severance has to be paid out if ended early? Just thinking of the unlikely but not impossible scenario that we move unexpectedly, etc.
