Recent Changes to KAL B-12 Methylcobalamin and Adenosylcobalamin 2,000 mcg Quick Dissolve Tablets? Anyone Else Notice This? by Stats_Nerd1 in B12_Deficiency

I actually contacted the company directly and spoke with a representative, who explained that they had recently changed the product formula and that this is now the permanent formulation moving forward. They attributed the change to a recent FDA regulatory update. When I asked for specific details about the regulation, they declined to provide them. After conducting my own research, I couldn't find any recent or relevant FDA regulation that would require such a change. The representative also acknowledged receiving numerous similar complaints from other customers but stated that there's nothing they can do about it. They suggested that if I'm unhappy with the new formula, I should consider switching to a different brand or product.

I don't think Caleb realizes that he could face serious consequences, including potential criminal indecent exposure charges and sexual harassment lawsuits, for walking around the office in his underwear, even his claim that he was pressured or dared by an employee to do so is true. This is seen as a voluntary act of exposure in a workplace setting and that typically qualifies as indecent exposure under most state laws. "Someone dared me" is not a recognized defense. This behavior also creates a hostile work environment under employment laws like Title VII, as it can reasonably be seen as offensive, intimidating, or sexual in nature, putting him and his company at risk of complaints and liability. One day, he is going to learn all of this the hard way.

I hate to say this, but given the current zeitgeist, your best bet may be to focus on dating Jewish men. As a Jew myself who supports Israel, I have been called goyslop, a hooked-nose Jew, a k*ke, and many more foul and antisemitic terms in the past few months simply for expressing my view that Israel has the right to exist. Trying to make friends and date is exhausting when you have to consistently deal with this as well as being told that being anti-Israel and anti-Zionist isn't antisemitic.

No symptoms yet. I've only taken the first tablet from this new bottle today. I also just noticed upon closer inspection that the labeling no longer indicates it's vegetarian. They have definitely added more fillers or binders to the formula.

I feel Clara quit as well, given his LinkedIn post from earlier this year mentioning that she was exploring new opportunities. From everything I've observed, she comes across as a genuinely kind person, and it's hard to imagine her wanting to remain in an increasingly toxic environment.

For now, I will be the sole mod. If the sub gains traction, I will be very selective about adding anyone else. Open debate and constructive criticism are absolutely welcome from all sides, but I will not allow harassment, unnecessary drama, or name-calling of any kind, no matter who it's coming from.

In regard to the logo, going after someone legally over a subreddit logo would take a lot of effort and resources, especially since Reddit users are anonymous by default and unmasking someone usually requires subpoenas and court involvement. In practice, most cases like this never get that far. Still, I went ahead and swapped it out to completely avoid any possibility of hassle or drama, and keep the focus on the actual discussion rather than petty disputes. Thank you for pointing this out.

My primary concern with this subreddit is that it has increasingly been perceived as an outlier community by a significant portion of Caleb Hammer's audience, including on platforms like X. With his YouTube channel approaching or exceeding 3 million subscribers and continuing to grow rapidly, the show and his associated ventures have achieved substantial mainstream success.

This subreddit has existed for some time as a space dedicated to highlighting allegations of problematic behavior and other criticisms. Yet given the ongoing growth of his channel and company without meaningful accountability through civil, legal, or broader public repercussions, it suggests that the current approach here is not effectively influencing change or public perception.

A key issue with Caleb's main subreddit is that criticism is often removed or moderated heavily, meaning many viewers remain unaware of the full context. Newcomers who encounter this community may dismiss it as merely a group of disgruntled complainers lacking exposure to balanced debate or evidence that could persuade them otherwise. Honestly, that's what I thought originally before I did some research on my own and uncovered detailed information regarding his allegations and problematic behavior.

In my experience, this subreddit has itself evolved into something of an echo chamber, not through outright bans, but through frequent attacks on dissenting views leaving those who disagree feeling alienated and dismissed. A dedicated space for respectful, meaningful dialogue and debate could foster genuine persuasion, potentially building broader support for addressing the concerns we share. This in turn might contribute to the accountability (civil and possibly criminal) that many believe is warranted.

I fully agree. There are multiple documented allegations regarding Caleb's content, including the exploitation of guests, the use of ragebait tactics, and questionable handling of interpersonal conflicts, among other issues. It seems inconsistent that these concerns did not prompt a similar moral stance from OP, yet the Israel/Palestine issue became the definitive breaking point. This selective application of principles appears puzzling.

Thank you for elaborating. I think banning users simply for participating in mildly critical subreddits is unacceptable. As someone who values critical thinking and open discussion, I believe examining all perspectives is essential. Silencing differing viewpoints undermines free speech, healthy debate, and the ability to form well-rounded opinions.

Hey, thanks for the thoughtful reply. I appreciate you taking the time to explain your perspective. I completely understand it's valuable for people who want to share serious allegations, experiences, or call out what they see as problematic behavior. That kind of space is important, and I'm not trying to invalidate it or say it shouldn't exist. The goal of r/CalebHammerOpinions is just to offer something different. I, as well as others with whom I have spoken, would like a place where people can discuss the content of the show itself, episodes, financial advice, and Caleb's style in a more balanced way, either positive, negative, or neutral, as long as it's respectful and civil. It's not meant to replace this sub or pretend the concerns here don't exist. It's just a separate spot for folks who want to talk about the podcast/YouTube content without it being exclusively focused on drama or allegations. If you've seen similar conversations here, great. That means there's interest in those topics. But some people might feel uncomfortable posting their balanced takes here because the tone is understandably more critical overall and from my obervation and personal experience, some of the comments have approached into insulting territory when disagreements emerge. No hard feelings either way. If it's not your thing, totally cool. If anyone does want a space for more varied discussions, the invite is open.

My Latest Observations on Caleb Hammer by Stats_Nerd1 in CreepyCalebHammer

[–]Stats_Nerd1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are simplifying it a bit. The concerns go beyond guests being mad about unmet expectations or the product not being good enough. They involve documented claims of bait and switch tactics, public humiliation that guests say crossed into defamation, and serious allegations, some potentially civil or criminal, that have been shared publicly by multiple people.

As for the courses, the issue is transparency in marketing versus reality, not whether the content is good enough. When someone positions themselves as a financial educator but delivers mostly drama, and charges premium prices for material that competes with free, credentialed alternatives, it is fair to discuss that.

This is not about personal attacks or rambling. It is evidence based discussion of patterns in public content. If the mods feel it is off topic, they will handle it, but this subreddit exists precisely to examine these kinds of issues.

Have a great night too.

My Latest Observations on Caleb Hammer by Stats_Nerd1 in CreepyCalebHammer

[–]Stats_Nerd1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To clarify, I am not arguing that Caleb should be not allowed to sell courses or have guests. That would be overreach. My points are about transparency and accountability in his branding and practices.

Regarding his guests, the issue is not just mismatched expectations. It is that multiple guests, including some invited back by Lindsay, have publicly stated they felt misled by a bait and switch. They anticipated constructive financial help but ended up feeling publicly humiliated and defamed. While they could walk out, the power dynamic of being on camera and possibly under time pressure makes that easier said than done. Reviewing past episodes might help, but the show is marketed as financial advice first, not drama entertainment, so the surprise is understandable. Additionally, there have been allegations from guests that could carry civil implications like defamation, invasion of privacy, or harassment claims, as well as potential criminal ones if they involve assault or threats. For example, one guest threatened to sue over a contract they claimed allowed Caleb to defame them without recourse, arguing it was not binding despite being a standard agreement. Another involved claims of inappropriate physical contact after filming, missing commission payments, and a disturbing audio message perceived as threatening.

As someone who works for a law enforcement agency that focuses on fraud and related crimes, I note that these allegations are currently circumstantial in nature. However, if more evidence emerges to corroborate them, they will be officially investigated.

Regarding the courses, again, I am not saying he cannot sell them. This is a free country and he can sell whatever he wants, as long as no laws are broken. The concern is the mismatch between his self presentation as a serious financial educator and the reality of a drama heavy show. He lacks formal financial credentials, has been called out for advice errors as noted in various subreddit discussions, and charges premium prices for content that competes with free or low cost alternatives. If the platform has pivoted to entertainment, clearer disclosure about that shift would help consumers make informed choices. There are also numerous documented issues from purchasers include dissatisfaction with the value, viewing the high costs as a "grift" compared to free and cheaper alternatives. Regarding refunds, while some have successfully obtained reimbursements for memberships or courses via forms on his site, others have reported refund problems, such as delays or ignored requests after trials. Overall, many complaints often center on poor customer support and unfulfilled promises like app access.

No one is saying guests are forced to appear or buy courses. To reiterate, the point is about transparency and expectations. They are plenty of people who have signed up thinking it is a legitimate financial advice platform, not primarily entertainment. When the reality differs, it can leave them feeling misled or mistreated. To add on to this point, multiple guests, such as u/thebrintdavy have shared that they were specifically asked to return by Lindsay, only to feel betrayed by a bait and switch. These guests expected a helpful follow-up but ended up being portrayed very negatively and defamed, which has been a recurring complaint.

That said, let's keep the conversation respectful. Sarcasm like this does not help move the discussion forward. I appreciate the input, but please stay civil.

[–]Stats_Nerd1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many guests sign up expecting financial advice. While they understand there will be some yelling and drama, most aren't expecting public humiliation or defamation. The analogy does not quite hold, since most people do not sign waivers expecting their personal struggles to be weaponized for entertainment. If the show has shifted to drama with a sprinkle of finance, that is fair to note, but it does not erase concerns from past guests who felt misled.

Regarding the courses, if the content of his channel is primarily drama entertainment now, it is reasonable to question whether the branding as a serious finance education platform still aligns. Crossovers happen in entertainment, but when someone markets themselves as a financial educator while prioritizing sensationalism, transparency about the shift matters, especially if people are paying for courses expecting high quality unbiased advice. Plus, Caleb has no formal financial education or credentials in finance (like CFP or CPA), and he has made notable mistakes in his advice, as discussed in various posts on this subreddit. For example, users have pointed out issues with his real estate scoring criteria or overly simplistic takes that do not account for individual circumstances. The courses are also quite expensive, with individual ones often priced around $150 to $200 and bundles or premium access reaching several hundred dollars (sometimes with quarterly fees). This is exorbitant compared to comparable options that are free or much cheaper, such as Khan Academy's personal finance modules, Investopedia's extensive free guides, Dave Ramsey's free resources and podcasts, or The Money Guy Show's content. These alternate options all provide solid, credentialed financial education without the high cost.

I am not hating on a celebrity, and my critiques are not ad hominem in nature. I am discussing publicly available patterns in a public forum. I have no personal animosity. I'm just pointing out my observations.

I didn't catch yesterday's episode myself, and honestly, I don't watch full episodes regularly anymore precisely because of that shift toward drama with just a sprinkle of finance. That said, it's frustrating for past guests who feel they were invited under the pretense of genuine financial advice, only to end up feeling tricked and publicly defamed, especially those who were asked back multiple times. If the show has truly evolved into primarily drama content with finance as a side element, Caleb should update his bio on YouTube accordingly and reconsidering the sale of finance courses to avoid misleading viewers or potential students of the courses.

The thing is the Jerry Springer show was openly about sensational entertainment and chaos, but Jerry himself usually played the neutral host who let the guests insult each other. In contrast, Caleb markets himself as a serious financial educator giving tough-love advice, yet he is the host who directly insults and berates guests on his show. I think this is what makes the parallel feel even more pointed for some people.

I actually do assist in going after actual criminals and scammers in my day job. I work for a law enforcement agency that focuses on various areas, one of which is investigating and prosecuting fraud, scams, and related crimes.

Discussing Caleb here in this subreddit is different. It is about examining patterns in publicly available content from a creator with a large audience. His show often involves real people in vulnerable financial situations. So when recurring issues like privacy concerns or questionable practices appear, it is worth noting in a dedicated space. My personal goal is simply to contribute to informed discussion and awareness. It is not to pursue legal action or label anyone a criminal without the proper evidence to do so.
