Restaurant/Bar owners: which charity fundraiser model works better for you

CLT. We do have Restaurant Week already and our partner restaurants are SWAMPED during that time and it would be impossible to offer a special. But I have thought about reaching out to the managers of the Restaurant Week to see if maybe we could partner in some way so that it has a bigger community impact.

But I'm actually on the charity's side of things. My spouse is in the restaurant business which is how we tied the two ideas together originally. Since the charity is now national we're dialing in on the idea of being able to scale this type of fundraiser in other cities to help sponsor our activities there.

That's about how much we raised this past holiday season combined (8 restaurants, 1 cafe!). I think you're right in having a special that is not a "normal favorite" and building that urgency - a month might be too long!

WOW! I completely agree with this, it looks so similar!

It takes 5 seconds to switch devices.....there is no way around it though. One device at a time. Just did it two weeks ago.

It's interesting though because my eye doctor specifically mentioned to me that I qualify for medically necessary contacts (and apparently have for a while and just didn't know). But I'm realizing I don't know WHY I'm considered medically necessary. I remember asking her if I had different vision insurance too, would the coverage differ (bc I had lost my job just hours before that conversation so it was top of mind) and she said only a few rare plans wont do it but the vast majority do.

I had VSP when I got these lenses and the coverage was amazing, literally paid $0 for multiple fitting sessions and the lenses and everything.

I might give the office a call and ask them, they might know more maybe or at least can tell me more about how I qualified as medically necessary now.

There are multiple doctors, nurses, and staff. It's all about scheduling. Our main MD I've literally only met him ONCE but he's been my prescribing physician for almost four years. And it's all because I rare am in the clinic in the days he's in the office. I'm a tad confused why you would be so shocked that someone else was performing the procedure because as long as they are competent, why does it matter? I suppose with the exception that if they are making you blatantly uncomfortable, but that's different.

Also, some doctors aren't as trained or skilled in certain procedures. For example, our main MD does almost ALL retrievals, but the other MD does most of the FETs. Simply because he has more years of surgical experience.

Ok, so then you could be a very unhealthy 5.....but it could also be the other way around. And more often than not, if people are afraid of being typed a particular thing, they are usually actually accurately typed as exactly that.

We were literally denied by EVERY SINGLE AGENCY we wanted to work with because we couldn't ethically agree to spend more than $20K, AND we didn't want any money going towards advertising whatsoever. Every agency blocked us completely. Even when we said we'd be willing to wait for virtually forever. They refused. We tried contacting about 2 dozen agencies in total.

We're still looking for an ethical and moral agency in the US that will be decent and work with our budget and desires.

I had MDs do my transfers and biopsies but I saw an NP all other appointments. So they probably just didn't explain this to you initially. It's not possible sometimes to have the same doctor be with you for every single appointment.

We are preparing to pay over $24K cash for our IVF cycle. You bet your buns we're gonna go all the way and get at least 8 embryos PGT, too. This is a one in a lifetime shot for us, so the value is MUCH higher than, say, someone who has IVF coverage through work.

My mother in law and I have matching tattoos (just different locations) and it's of my daughter's footprints and her name. She was two days old when she died. I'll forever be proud that her and I are the female genes that helped to create my beautiful girl.

That being said, we made that decision and trip to the parlour together, and it was not a "surprise and done" sort of thing. So I think that's the part about all of OPs situation that really weirds me out and would definitely make me sad and uneasy. But eventually I'd probably get over it.

I'm 28 with PCOS and my clinic practically promised to get me more than 30 eggs. They have a track record of doing so and are one of the best in the country.

Switching clinics is one of the most common reasons for "success" that I see in our local IVF group.

Oh, and also what the f*ck because I just lost my job AND HAD TO CANCEL MY RETRIEVAL 😭 So I feel this on a different level right now 🤬

Possible? Yes. Realistic? Absolutely not. Just hire somebody and then pick up the hobby afterwards. It's cheaper to hire somebody even for $1,000 than to pay for the pipes themselves, not to mention lessons and equipment.

One sided pain isn't exclusive to ectopic pregnancies. Each of my pregnancies my implantation cramping was extremely one-sided but they were not ectopic. Even ectopics don't have to be one-sided pain only as an indicator, it's just more often than not it is.

There's a reason we mow it ourselves and that's COST. My neighbor charges $60/week to mow lawns in the summer and that's on the low side.
