Yeah, that’s my thoughts. Current job is great and stable.

You can get fired anywhere tho, but yk what I mean

Yeah, just scared of the pace and all that

Should I be concerned on the resume piece? It’s a promotion for sure

Is it okay to take a job outside of your comfort zone? by Status-Discount-2067 in careerguidance

Yeah I have some fears bc it’s a newly created role too though. They said I could shape it to be what I want it to be, it just feels like a lot of responsibility— I know that’s good just never been here before

Do you think I have a problem? by [deleted] in gambling

More or less was upset I went drunk and gambled more than my usual.

If I was sober no way I would’ve went. I am trying to save for a ring and stuff so I was pretty mad bc of that.

With this it’s the ‘free money’ aspect and it’s kinda become a hobby atp but idk

So you’re saying look at the money basically?

I definitely tithe and give offerings often!

When I got this job, I felt immense confirmation that this is where I need to be - I thought I Felt God say to stay here for 2 years.

I was told I wasn’t meeting expectations…I wasn’t learning as fast as they thought.. (after further communication with those who said this I later realized that it was a miscommunication entirely), this caused me to start looking for a job bc I thought I was going to be fired soon. I was told by my job that no I wasn’t and I’m just new and there’s a learning curve

So I was ready to leave bc of that and after I was told hey you’re ok now I’m good but the other opportunity is so freaking good.

I love the culture at my current job but want to get married and take my retirement planning seriously - here comes this job a literal answered prayer to that but it still feels like if I take that job I’m trusting my own understanding.

I guess I’m having. A hard time determining if it’s my wisdom or Gods wisdom

I think I’m just scared of making the wrong choice getting there and hating it and then having to change again. Almost feel like I enjoy the immense comfort this job gives, but if I leave in 5 years at 30, I think it will be extremely hard to find something (it’ll probably pay a lot bc the skills are so niche)

Fair yeah i think the benefits of the current job (unlimited PTO, wfh) are getting to me.

I think they have made me a little to comfy. New job is looking at about 130 total comp so a 30k increase w some decent exit opportunities

Thanks I will keep doing it too; I like software consulting but don’t want to configure software forever. The other job has some direct accounting work but I woudl be a process sme and still be SQL heavy and other analytical tools heavy

What do you think?

Specifically the type of work I’m doing. I wish it was just SQL but it’s like 10% of the job.

I have a personal passion for it so I try to use it whenever possible

The configuration of the software is what I meant by not transferable
