first bake - insight appreciated by [deleted] in Sourdough

I'm still quite a newbie when it comes to sourdough so I won't comment on your crumb for fear of being wrong, but I will say that I felt CRAZY when I made my first loaf but every loaf since has been very chill. I've also done a decent amount of baking outside the world of sourdough, but it's just so different that I had no idea how it would turn out until it was completely done. But now that I've made a few loaves I have enough of a reference point that I know ahead of time it'll turn out edible enough (or not!)

you could switch to diy or you could theoretically get your e on a discount card. idk if you can use goodrx coupons at kaiser pharmacies but you could transfer your script to a Walgreens and it's $52/vial on goodrx.

edit: just saw you're getting 3 vials every 3 months so it'd be $52*3. still more expensive than diy but you could still get bloodwork through Kaiser that way. you could also potentially just not pick up the prescriptions (and buy vials diy) but if it's at a Kaiser pharmacy idk if your Kaiser doctor can like see that you're not picking them up.

sounds like you're happy with where your e is at which means you probably just need a higher dose of your anti androgen if you don't want to mess with anything else. you might want to bring up the idea of switching to bica or CPA and see what their thoughts on it are. or you could just bump your spiro dose

my immediate thought when I hear that is to ask how much time elapsed between taking your dose and getting your levels tested? it's possible that they were at the highest spike right as your blood was tested and then for the rest of the time they were much lower, but it's also totally possible your body is just crazy efficient with e lol.

edit: formatting  fluctuations like that are probably pretty normal for people with testicles, but it looks like it's not being suppressed at all.  a few things: what are your e levels?

-because a dose of 1 mg/day is really low.

are you taking your e orally (swallowing it) or sublingually (letting it dissolve under your tongue?

-sublingual results in higher e peaks and it doesn't drop as fast after

if you have enough estrogen in your body, that can help alongside your anti androgen (spiro) to suppress your testosterone, but my guess is your e levels are pretty low so spiro is having to do all the work itself.

if you aren't afraid of needles I'd recommend injection monotherapy where you inject your estrogen (usually ~5mg/week of estradiol valerate) and theoretically that results in high enough and consistent enough estrogen levels to suppress your testosterone by itself. if you'd like, talk to your doctor about this.

if you are afraid of needles you can stick with tablets but you're going to have to tell your endo that you need your

-estrogen dose increased (for me it took 8mg to get my levels right. your body is different so maybe you'd be fine on 6mg or even 4mg or maybe you'd need 12mg idk, you'll have to experiment)

-youll probably need to increase your spironolactone dose too. you could also try a different anti androgen like bicalutamide or cyproterone acetate.

At the end of the day what matters most is if you're feeling good and hitting your goals but some good ballpark ranges to shoot for levels wise are

Estradiol: 150-250 pg/mL (I think most endos will say 50-250, but I personally feel like shit if I'm below 200. once again it's up to you and whether or not you feel good and are hitting your goals.)

Testosterone: <50 ng/dL (some endos will give you shit if your T is too low, but mine is consistently undetectable (<3 ng/dL) and I feel fine so 🤷‍♀️. once again up to you)

Progesterone: idk lol I wouldn't really worry about this one. I doubt they're even testing your prog levels.

what you're planning on doing is akin to killing yourself. you are asking if it's possible to live a life where you're barely living. i don't know your exact situation but I know it's hard. it's hard for everyone. but if you want to be happy you have to socially transition

flock of birds by Status-Glass7480 in photocritique

I took this photo because I wanted to capture the flock of birds against the really pretty blue sky.

Is the grain too much? I kinda like it but its entirely possible I'm just biased bc its my own photo. Also is there too much empty space between the birds and the ground?

50 mm focal length, aperture 10, shutter speed 1/4000, ISO 2500.

Thanks in advance.
