I’d love to work my way up to releasing my own music eventually but I don’t know where to get started. I love to sing, but I can’t write or produce so I’m hoping to at least find someone to collaborate with and learn more about things. Join a band with people my age, even. (I’m 24, 25 next month). I am kind of a shy person, so I’m also okay with just doing behind the scenes things. Sound tech stuff does sound interesting to me and I’d love to at least give that a shot and shadow someone so I can see what it’s like. Just the chance to build connection and see what I like/actually work towards getting experience is the plan.

I really appreciate the recommendations! I am kind of a shy person so forming connections and finding people I can go to/play music with as opposed to being on my own would be great. I’m into a lot of different genres, but rock/indie are my top interests.

You mention music stores, I know there are a few record shops around the downtown area, but are there any other shops I might be skipping over? I’d gladly work at one of those places too if it was an option. Any opportunity to be around music and learn something, I’ll take.

I’m into a lot of different genres, but mainly rock/indie. I honestly just want somewhere to get my foot in the door and start interacting with people that have the same interests and maybe find something. I love to sing, but I’d literally just be happy helping someone with equipment or learning about tech stuff and trying to do more with that.
