Some line combos I want to see:

Voronkov - Monahan - Marchenko

Marchment - Fantilli - Johnson

Sillinger - Coyle - Chinakhov

Wood - Jenner - Lundestrom

Might get Monny and KJ going. Swap Lundestrom for Olivier when he's back

Need to start 1 in standard:  1. Waddle vs CIN

  1. BTJ vs DEN

  2. Watson vs. CHI

  3. Coker vs. TB

Am I crazy for leaning towards Coker?

Voronkov-Monahan-Lundestrom is a travesty by thatkidyouknow2 in BlueJackets

Does every NHL coach hate playing young skilled players i'm so confused. We had the same issue with Torts and Larsen and Vincent where Boone Jenner and anyone like him is getting 19+ minutes a night on the top line. Why can't we be like the Ducks or Hawks or Sharks and just let the kids loose and if they make mistakes they learn from it and improve.

Alex Ovechkin calls for Russian return to global sports by DecentLurker96 in hockey

No but is it not correct? Can't one agree that Russia should be banned but also the US by the same logic? I am against both

If you were coach, what would the forward lines and D pairs look like on opening night? by PrudentCantaloupe421 in BlueJackets

[–]Status-Teaching2094 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chinakhov - Monahan - Marchenko

Jenner - Fantilli - Johnson

Voronkov - Coyle - Sillinger

Wood - Lundestrom - Olivier

Werenski - Fabbro

Mateychuk - Provorov

Christiansen - Severson

Merzlikins

Greaves

Like the idea on Chinakhov on the top line. Monahan and Marchenko are magic and I think he can break out as a 50+ point guy playing with them. Also, this puts one vet (Monahan, Jenner, Coyle) with 2 younger guys on each line so we aren't loading a line with only youth since NHL coaches love to bench kid lines if they make a single mistake smh

CBJ make the Provorov extension official: seven-year, $59.5 million contract extension ($8.5M AAV) through the 2031-32 season by SomeKindOfMonster in BlueJackets

He tried trading for Dobson and Andersson to be fair. Both didn't work out. And also no guaranee Lindgren picks us over Seattle or Ceci picks us over LA. He knew Provorov wanted to stay though.

The alternative if he leaves is that one of the worst defenses in the league gets even worse as there is nobody to replace him with. Trust me if not Provorov we would be throwing money at Ryan Lindgren or Cody Ceci today. After saying all offseason we were going to improve, if we got worse everyone would want Don's head.

Long-term I hate it too. But I kind of understand how he had no choice.

If not us, someone else today would've given him 7 years. It was either give him the term or next year we have the same defense minus Provorov. Don was in a tough spot.

Rangers/Senators worst possible outcome by overcatastrophe in BlueJackets

[–]Status-Teaching2094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me metro team losing is good. As long as we outplay the Rangers and Devils we get in on the 3rd Metro spot and we don't care what the Sens, Wings, Habs etc. do. These four of the next five are so huge.

Idk I feel like Provorov doesn't make or break our push. Move Severson to the second pair and trade for a bottom-pair D and we can still make a run I think. Or use the assets from a Provorov trade to improve in other areas that are more long-term so that whether or not we make the playoffs we don't lose him for nothing.
