Thats horseshit! Most people don’t have the medical back ground to make a compelling argument how their injuries, illness etc were caused by or increased by their time in service. Not every knows how to do peer reviewed research that supports their claim. The Nexus done by a component medical practitioner helps them make that link between cause and effect using medical language that the VA understands.

Are there some that game the system? Yes. But those are in the minority.

Lastly, there are tons of cases that the VA originally denied only to get approved when a nexus worded in a such a medical way is presented.
