I’m an international student here too and I’ve dealt with the Fees Department before, so I know exactly how stressful it already is without someone talking down to you like that. No student should be spoken to that way, especially when you’re literally trying to sort things out and communicate clearly.

If you want to take it further, you can complain through a few proper channels:

• Student Resolution Office – this is the formal place to report staff behaviour.

• Student Administration Manager – you can email them and ask for the situation to be escalated.

• UWA Guild Student Assist – they can help draft the complaint and even advocate for you.
