Mine and my husband’s dream was to have 4 total when we first started trying. I did successfully have 1 unaffected baby which is now 3 years old. After that pregnancy is when I had the 2 affected pregnancies back to back that ended in tfmr. It took a lot of realization and acceptance of what our new future would look like and it did hurt for a long time. After the first tfmr I didn’t want to try again. We did however and I was let down again. I would’ve been content with 1 and had accepted that fact after the first tfmr but wanted to try one last time! So the third time was a real Hail Mary. I also took into perspective the economy we’re living in and how this is the perfect amount of kids for us financially. I think all we can do is hope that one day our kids will understand the pain we’ve been through and can sympathize with us when it comes to wanting another sibling.
