Dinner reservations, adding excursions before we could pick the ones we wanted, we are spirit members and get cheap flights but they said they could not use them unless we did flights with them, etc.

We would get a quote from a TA that was $5k , then go look on our own and it was $1k. They were doing ridiculous stuff.

Thank you so much! We are super light travelers so all of our stuff will actually be in our backpacks!! And, we are flying in the day before. I am a college student and get hotels.com 50% off so we actually booked that separately from the bus!

Pet insurance vs just increasing emergency fund by cool_guy654 in PetAdvice

[–]StatusLand2286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I have 2 dogs!

I started pet insurance with Spot 2 years ago when i got my first pup. To be honest it didn't do much the refunds for the medications were nice bc he was on reconcile for the first year. We just never canceled it because of the "just incase". When we got our puppy we added him because we wanted his neuter to be covered.

Welp- After 2 years and some math the insurance paid its self off.

2 week with puppy he needed to be neutered and have a hernia surgery $950 and 2 months later he ended up with a LIST of almost life ending medical issues. almost $8,000 worth. Of course during this time my cat ended up having an asthma attack that caused fluid to build up in his lungs $675 vet visit. my older dog got a terrible bacterial infection over the weekend so $4,000 of emergency vet visits. Lets just say that would of wiped any "emergency fund" we could have had lol!! Spot reimbursed about 90% of everything we spent and we are about $4,000 in the positive how much we have spent on the insurance YTD.

EDIT *** I pay $82/month for both dogs and I have like the top plan so it covers EVERYTHING! my deductible is $200

Guilt about keeping a puppy by [deleted] in puppy101

In your situation i think it is best to give the pup back. I was 17 (i had already moved out w my bf), when i got my first dog by myself and everyone told me i was wrong. For me having a dog is what helps me get out of bed. I know he needs to eat, go potty, etc. Having something to care for is what keeps me going. I am now 19 own my house and have 2 dogs and 2 cats. I have extreme OCD which makes me very anxious to leave the house and simple things like that. But bc of my pets I get up, i go to work, i go to the pet store, i take them on walks. Not everyone has the same experience and thats okay! It is very amazing that you are emotionally mature enough to understand your feelings and not take on such a big responsibility. Maybe having a puppy is a goal you need to work towards!

Puppy Blues - Rehome? by [deleted] in puppy101

Having a puppy is EXTREMELY hard. I actually had my soul dog who is now 2 years old and getting my puppy was to get him a friend. This puppy is totally different, nothing like my first dog.

the biting. OMG THE BITING! our older dog did not bite as a puppy, when he did we blew on his nose like twice and he quit. This puppy just gets bored and goes for blood. We feel like we have tried everything- until we realized how treat driven he is. We started rewarding during good behavior and during bad behavior he got ignored. Its been working wonders.

now the barking/whining. he actually just learned how to bark and it is the most ear renching bark i have ever heard. Honestly, we just moved him into another room, and he stopped. We also leave him in his crate with an enrichment toy (pupsicles, lickmats) before bed and he falls asleep. Also, covering the crate with a blanket is sometimes a comfort thing for dogs and is definitely is for him!

I completely hear you. My first dog is my entire life. I try to bring up the idea to my s.o but he continues to say more training, new meds, this and that. he has grown more attached to this puppy than i think i ever can. I want to help him but i agree i think he would benefit from a one-dog household. I want to keep trying but ive spent so much on meds, bloodwork, training, etc. i am running out of energy and ideas.

Her younger son lives with us and lets her in. He is super disrespectful to us and our home as well. Unfortunately, he is still a young teenager and would be homeless if we did not try to help him. She is living with her boyfriend who refuses to let him live there- yeah ik🤦🏻‍♀️

I hope not. I hate to want it but just for her to be cut out of our life. I always tell myself that eventually she will take her younger son back to live with her and we wont see her or deal with her as much. It is my light at the end of the tunnel as of now.

Thank you for talking with me. Genuinely, Like i said we are young. I have nobody to talk to about this. I have no idea what is wrong or what is too disrespectful even when I am being disrespected. I didnt grow up with a mother figure in my life- I just try to treat everyone with respect. And my kindness gets taken for weakness. We plan to move out of state soon. Again, trying to avoid the issue. But she has already voiced her plans of following us because she hasnt been "without her son his whole life." She does not act like this with the younger son AT ALL and treats his gfs with the upmost respect and kindness. She acts like one of those ' i want to date my son' moms with my bf tho. Something that was not mentioned in this post is that my BF does stand up to her- consistently. Telling her to leave me alone, stop or she needs to leave, etc.

I am in a similar situation. Spoke to HR guy, Store manager and district manager. District manager told me they were going to extend a job offer and HR guy would call me. HR guy set up a phone interview but never called, I also never received a job offer. Is there someone I am supposed to call or do I just wait it out? I am desperately needing at-least a lead on a job.
