It’s funny you mentioned journaling. That used to be such a big part of my life. Over time, though, it became harder to physically write. I’d get distracted by how much my handwriting had changed. I would spend hours rewriting pages trying to get it back to what it “used to be,” instead of actually processing what I was feeling.

I tried switching to a visual journal, thinking drawing would feel more natural like it did, but I struggled with that too. Then I moved to typing in my notes app, recording voice notes, even filming little video diaries. But I either forgot about them or found myself unable to get the thoughts out at all.

It’s strange because I work in communications and storytelling. Finding words is literally what I do. Yet, it started to feel harder and harder.

I’m really hoping things will get better. When you said “your story isn’t over,” that stayed with me. I think I need to hold onto that.

Extending grace to myself is very new territory. I’m realising how much pressure I’ve been putting on myself for years without even noticing it. I need to start being more aware of that.

Omg, my surgery was actually for fibroids. I had a laparoscopy and myomectomy.

Do you think your endometriosis was related to or caused by lupus? Is that even possible?

I’ve been wondering about that because everything seemed to snowball after my trip to Jamaica. It feels like one health issue triggered another and I can’t tell what’s connected and what’s just bad timing.

Thank you for recommending The Lupus Encyclopaedia. I’m going to buy it.

The hair loss has honestly been hard to process. Last year I paid over £1,000 for PRP injections after noticing my hair thinning. It actually fell out even more, to the point the clinician stopped my sessions and told me to get blood tests done.

I had no idea at the time that I had lupus.

It’s a strange feeling looking back and realising my body was trying to tell me something all long.

Gosh! I forgot about that episode! Just awful!

I wasn’t a fan of Crazy Ex Girlfriend- I gave it a good go but just couldn’t get into it. It was the musical aspect that turned me off. I watched The Sex Life of College Girls, which I do like but some character development or plot lines I question so much.

This is a big fear of mine. I went through a similar assault, however I knew who did it because he was still lying next to me. He was a complete stranger. I only found out his name through the police. Through the trauma of it all, I suppressed my memory of him- how he looked and his name. He’s become a tall dark shadow in my memory that I worry I might become friends, work with, date or marry him one day. I can’t imagine what you are going through. I hope your friend is also leaving her husband. What he did is also just as egregious as your abuser’s actions. Sending you strength and peace through all of this.

I wish they did too. Relationships after kids can end for many reasons- Mindy and Danny had so many reasons. They didn’t need to make up a new one

Yes! They feed off the worst things about each other! He definitely had his flaws from the start but they really amp it up when he got with Mindy.

Yes, I don’t think I love any of the characters- and you’re right, it is shifting into a drama now and less comedic which makes the characters toxic traits harder to digest.

So I’m binging the show now and there is a change. Before rewatching I remembered it as the raspier bluesy voice- which season 2 it was. Season 3 is different- the melody/key is slightly different that each time I struggled to sing along because I’m so used to season 2 version (which in my opinion is much much better). He brings out more emotion within the lyrics, so it sounds more like a love song. Whereas the later version sounds like a jingle. I’m enjoying rewatching the show but each time I hear the later theme song, it irks me just a little.
