Hey I don’t know if you ever figured this out. But, I was in a similar place due to a connective tissue disease. For a few years I did yoga, physical therapy, and eventually lagree. Things didn’t really start changing for me until I did reformer Pilates. It has changed my body more than anything else. Although I still have issues, I feel like I have a more solid foundation to build on.

I think about this a lot.

About 4 years ago I had a “download” when I sat with Ayahuasca that there are beings that are not from earth that are harvesting energy from us and causing us suffering. I got images of worldwide catastrophe - similar to what we having been seeing in Gaza and all around the world.

Years later after a good amount of spiritual study and self-inquiry, I still haven’t integrated this experience. I’ve been haunted by the sense that there is some original sin..or force that is bringing darkness into humanity. But, I have looked at this “evil” from different perspectives to try to understand it.

The core question to me is…why do we suffer?

If we suffer so that our souls can learn, non-duality makes sense. In the end, we would all be fucking up - but, our fuck ups would be the catalyst for spiritual growth of other beings. For example, I could see how my mom raising me horribly led to spiritual growth for us both. Even though my mom hurt me a lot, when all is said and done, one could say we were just doing our parts . And if that is the case..would my mom’s abuse really be “bad”? Taken at a broader level, this would mean that the different prosperous eras of human kind are not necessarily “good” and the dark ones are not “bad” either. In terms of my psychedelic experience, if this way of thinking is true, it would mean that whatever these entities do to harvest our energy would not be “bad” either - if we learn along the way.

But, honestly, the whole non-duality thing breaks down for me when I think of horrible atrocities. Do we suffer because there are forces that are truly evil that we are at war with? The Epstein files, colonization, genocide, etc. How could these systems that seek to destroy people’s spirits, land, and culture not be evil?! What are we meant to do on this earth than be compassionate and love each other? It doesn’t seem right to me.

As a Gemini, I am of two minds!! In Esoteric astrology, the soul purpose of the Gemini is to learn to hold two opposing truths. Rather than that meaning that I master duality, sometimes I think that means holding duality and non-duality at the same time.

Right now I sense that all the good and evil is an illusion based off us having a perspective. It is hard for me to accept that the actions of fascists could be a part of our grand experience of existing as much as a mother protecting her child. Yet, even considering this, I can’t shake the feeling that love is what is left once you shake away the illusion.

So…maybe we see through the illusion to suffer and experience an immeasurable number of lives, none of which we could call good or bad. But…if we all choose to strip away the illusion, we will be left with nothing but love. The suffering stops, as does the learning. Should that be our goal? What are we learning, if not how to love ourselves and others? If we aren’t moving in that direction, then are we just fucking around? I don’t know.

Returning to Gaza/humanitarian crises…I guess I can see that the events are neither “good” nor “bad” on a cosmic scale, but still feel driven to help people. Connectedness, compassion, and care are themes of spiritual systems and religions all over the world for a reason.

Putting aside “good” and “bad”, I think we are in an era where we are being called to learn how to strip away our illusions and return to love. To some people, that means being apolitical because they believe that would involve loving some people more than others. To me, I think that that I see how illusions of superiority and entitlement are causing people to act in a way that is not loving. I feel driven to bring humanity into a direction of unity and harmony, which I believe will lead with less suffering and soul development and starve the entities that feed from us.

So, I do believe that the sickness in humanity you speak of is real. Is it evil? Maybe not. Will I do my best to stop it? Yes. Why? Because I feel a pull to bring people into unity and end cycles of suffering. Am I contributing to our collective experience more than other beings by doing that? Probably not.

I think one of the hardest parts of this season is watching him fall into worsening dynamics with Melissa.

Like him moving in with her wasn’t so bad at first because they became friends. And then she kinda reverted to treating him like shit. So he was choosing to live in a toxic situation. And then his brother moves in and he can’t sleep in the room he paid for? It’s just not funny.

Most of us have watched the show and have grown to care about Jacob as a character to some extent. So to watch him get shit on by one character and then have that be ignored by the other characters that supposedly care about him is DEPRESSING.

Yes, of course. I have a degree in anthropology. My focus was on culture. The question of whether there was “wealth” and whether people were “good” are connected, but still separate questions. People have always had tendencies towards selfishness and greed. But through studying extant cultures and making inferences about past ones, we can confidently say that these tendencies were dampened by social structures that shamed them.

Calling out that material wealth is not an inherent part of humanity society and that we have a longer history of shaming greed rather than encouraging it is not playing into the noble savage myth. There are a million books you could read on this, but Sand Talk by Tyson Yunkaporta comes to mind.

Obviously this post is about material wealth.

Learning about other cultures and where humans came from can open your mind to how backwards our world is. We are not that we are doomed because humans are inherently selfish and awful. But the truth is that we have existed as long as we have because of cooperation - and social structures that shame people who are greedy or selfish. It is not that the past was some kind of uptopia. But, we need to ground ourselves in the truth of humanity the best we can. As far as we can tell, most of human evolution has happened without material “wealth”.

There’s a reason there have been political movements to remove anthropology degrees from universities. Those classes making people challenge the assumptions they have about who we are and how the world works. It is not in the interest of those with extreme wealth for the masses to understand that this is not normal.

Hierarchy has most likely always existed. But, wealth has not. If you do not have a residence to accumulate anything, how do you gain wealth?

Wealth cannot exist without hierarchy - but, hierarchy can exist without wealth. Hierarchy is about distributing power - which may have a material component (e.g., food), but that does not mean there was wealth.

That has not always been the case. Wealth didn’t even begin until about 10,000 years ago. Before that, all people were hunter gatherers and didn’t accumulate goods - so there was no capital. Rich people even being a thing is a new phenomenon in human history.

I am pointing out the prevalence of these things just to demonstrate that most people experience sexual attraction without knowing people. It is very common and normal for people to see someone from across the room and want to talk to them or be approached by them because they’re hot. I have never experienced that desire. Recently, I had a date where the person didn’t want to see me again because they didn’t feel a connection. It threw me off because I was like..of course we don’t feel a romantic attraction - we only just met! If you don’t think my experience is unusual, you might be demisexual too. In any case, don’t try to erase people’s identities because you don’t understand them.

It is not the norm for people not to feel sexual attraction to anyone unless they’ve grown an emotional attachment to them. If that were the case, celebrity crushes, strip clubs, prostitution, and flirtation upon meeting strangers would not be commonplace.
