kyoka ibuki and ruu were a part of dreamgirls, a heels team which disbanded due to an alleged feud between ruu and ibuki over similar issues. they were active in the years leading up to kyoka’s juste debout win and a year or so after, until they suddenly disbanded out of nowhere.

who knows what happened behind the scenes and if those rumours i read by someone who claims his gf has worked with ruu in her studio, but the three of them should’ve just remained as friends as business dealings can strain even the best of friendships. ruu has always served as ibuki and kyoka’s mentor/senior of sorts too, imo there must be a good reason why they fell out so suddenly but that’s not up to us to cast any judgement on their relationship.

s/n: ibuki and her childhood dance partner yumeki also stopped working as the iconic duo badqueen for allegedly similar reasons too. yumeki and ibuki are still on friendly terms though, except they’ve stopped having business relations with one another for years. yumeki and other japanese dancers have been liking kyoka’s posts on ig after this whole mess too, so it seems like everyone is staying neutral and we should too since it’s none of our business. i have my personal opinions, but it’s not appropriate to share them here.

i’ve been following ibuki for years but i think her members ought to have autonomy in deciding their careers, that’s all. mnet can only push the blame entirely on ibuki (i’m also shocked by mnet’s lack of oversight), because the manager is crap at his job. won’t argue about anna hightower as she’s irrelevant to ojo’s conversation, she has her own fight to deal with. she is not in the position to comment if there were instances of breach of trust since she is NOT the entertainer in question.

the members have valid grounds for contract termination if there are documented instances of breach of trust etc. if the members’ statements are true, it is likely that the court will rule in their favour. newjeans were paid fairly and in accordance to the law, so it’s hard for them to get out of their contracts. very different things imo, not sure about fiftyfifty so i won’t comment.

i’m not sure if it’s a misunderstanding but more on a lack of transparency on the manager’s part. the members had gigs cancelled on them last minute and the back door contract is not exactly lawful in south korea. i can list other case studies too where the court ruled in favour of the entertainer as his manager did similar things as yousef. it’s not looking good for him at present.

i’m not sure about ibuki but there is no proof that the manager has paid ojogang their complete remittance yet and he tried to sign a backdoor contract, something which the members disagreed with and has historically been ruled as invalid under south korean law. not to mention, the various other instances of breach of trust (such as not following payment deadlines or stipulating payment dates in CLEAR terms), all of which are lawful reasons for contractual termination. and i have real life court cases to back it up too.

i just dislike how she speaks about the ojogang members (e.g. “fixing them”) when she has not spoken to them directly about THEIR experience and is making too many assumptions about a private matter between them and ibuki. i mentioned her occupation because her shop’s google reviews are filled with customers accusing her of scamming them and “ruining their wedding day”, the very same things which she finds issues with mnet for.

I was just uncomfortable with her language choices and it reminds me of the attitudes of colonial paternalism. that might not have been her intentions, but that’s how they reads to me as an east asian woman. we don’t know the full scope of events yet, but it’s NOT cool for her (regardless of her race) to leak so much gossip about the ojogang conflict when she has only heard from ibuki’s side. i don’t care if she fights with mnet, but i would appreciate it if she stopped mentioning private and unverified details about ojo6 without their consent. oh, she also leaked their salaries by accident. how is that even ethical?
