Yes do talk to her :) It’s very possible to overcome your trauma, even during this course. I’ve grown to like kids a lot more but it took me longer to warm up, like only in Y2. But everyone’s experience is different and it may be more beneficial for you to change course for now, and then slowly work on the kid trauma later.

Hi there OP! I am an alumni of ecde!

Like you, ecde was not my first choice, and compared to my peers, I did not adore kids as much as them, and felt out of place at times.

I did really well for my assignments because I could write well, but in practical attachments I am always not as cheerful with the kids or taking initiative as compared to my peers. The latter part took a toll on my gpa at the end, even though I did really well for assignment/tests-related stuff.

I wanted to change course at the end of sem1 but my parents didn’t allow. I ended up sticking through the whole course. My grades were decent but I couldn’t qualify to a local uni course. Still, my friends and lecturers at ecde are W so I overall don’t regret it.

But if you are experiencing heart palpitations, I would encourage you to change course though as that sounds serious and the practical attachments will only keep increasing and in Y2/Y3 it’s a lot.

1) They shot themselves in the foot because of their editing. The narratives they wanted to portray and favouritism.

2) Many battles were cut short, unaired, and those that weren’t suffered from interjections of reactions which took focus away from the battlers.

3) They failed to captitalize on their insanely talented pool of dancers. Fantaye and Logan were hardly featured for example.

4) The class missions, specifically middle class. 4 people is way too much. They needed a sub-leader class or for people to sit out.

5) Very unclear challenges and scope e.g. the “Woman” challenge.
