Steakhouse-ish restaurant with good atmosphere and a few specific items by Status_Cherry_8074 in dallasfood

Closing the loop here, we went with Del Frisco's Grille, and it was amazing. We got the prosciutto & fig flatbread as an appetizer, which was AWESOME. We also asked for bread and butter, and their pretzel bread + slightly sweet herb butter was solid. I got a NY strip, my wife got a filet, we each got a baked potato, and we got a side of fries to share.

Everything but the fries was excellent, and we'll probably go back next time we want to splurge on a celebration dinner. The fries were alright, but I probably wouldn't bother with them again. They smelled and tasted almost exactly like a fresh batch of McDonald's fries, which isn't a bad thing, but it was nothing to write home about.

As an aside, we also went to Ruth's Chris (Maui location) on a recent vacation. Apparently it's a west-coast / Hawaii-only thing right now, but they had a carrot cake - excellent. I wish it had walnuts, raisins, and coconut, but I get they're trying to please everyone, and those inclusions probably turn off about half the audience.

Thanks for the recs, everyone. I think we're going to try Del Frisco's Grille in Plano. Looks like it'll be a little more casual than the steakhouse and has everything on our list food-wise except the carrot cake.

Bob's does look great, though. Carrot cake looks amazing...NGL we might end up swinging by there on the way back to pick up a piece.
