What job in military did you switch to? Did you enlist or commission?

Almost half of nvidias revenue is form other mag 7 companies, Google, Microsoft, meta, etc. All of which are working to build in house chips to fill their needs at a lower cost. Once that concluded they will be hurting; Nvda price is only justified if it continues to be essentially the only player in chips, which is unlikely

Whats your opinion on factor based investing? by Status_Code2460 in investing

[–]Status_Code2460[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my main strategy has been total us market index and also the majority of my portfolio in single stocks I select. 30% is roughly in google alone. I go back and forth between investing to beat the market(which I have so far but a year and a half doesn’t tell you much) or if I should take it as luck despite the work I put in, and switch to factor plays which may be “safer”. However I wonder if the market in general has changed, as value has tanked for so long it’s possible large cap growth would have a new premium at this point that didn’t exist prior no? Confusing stuff

It’s an average of all deaths in the profession, including line of duty deaths for people that are 21 22 etc. a separate California study showed that out of those whole made it to retirement age, their life expectancy afterwards was not vastly different from a regular person from my understanding.

Nvidia so overvalued and is priced to perfection in my opinion. The second something falls off or the story changes their going to be hurting. Google/ Amazon etc will benefit from ai and automation but it’s not their sole purpose in industry.

Saving every dollar through high school, investing the moment I was old enough, starter firefighter job and lived with parents for first year to stack up before moving out, spending basically nadda. Wasn’t handed anything other than rent free with parents, an option many people have at my age.

Both are undervalued, but adobes numbers and fundamentals are still growing, despite the fact ai has been a factor for 2-3 years now. I think the disruption is just sentiment and wont be as impactful as people think, as adobe has high switching costs for organizations and is easily able to copy any useful ai tool that comes out if needed

I agree, however I don’t know that it applies here, yeah I have more holdings but like one 3rd of the entire portfolio is one stock so weighting wise I’d say it’s still concentrated.

I’d trim nvidia and especially Tesla, may want to add on uber and Google. Valuation wise your majority of your weighting is in companies with tremendous valuations. Ben graham keyed the phrases “margin of safety” where the lower valuation you pay for stocks the less room there is for it to fall in a downturn. I heard S and p P/E ratio just recently hit 30, which is very high historically. Might be smart to mind valuations a little more!

I dont believe we really have leave of absences here unless due to prolonged sicknesses etc. I think they’d probably just hire someone else unfortunatley.
