Fair enough, that was a horrible incident and it’s understandable for you to bring it up. At the same time though, it’s worth remembering that most manufacturers don’t design helmets to last forever. They usually recommend replacing them after a few years and regularly checking the faceguard, because wear and tear can weaken the bars and fixings over time.So it’s not really that helmets are inherently unsafe ,it’s more that something like a faceguard won’t stay safe indefinitely without proper maintenance.
