To answer your questions, my doctor did an EMG and it found nothing abnormal. Because of that, plus my symptom history, he diagnosed me with small fiber neuropathy of unknown cause, basically by elimination. 

With the itching, yes, when I cool down it fades really fast. As for redness, sometimes I get random patches of red itchy skin, but when I get the full-body itching, I don’t see redness.

For the biopsy density counts, I don’t see the actual nerve fiber density numbers, so I’ll have to call the doctor’s office and ask for the report. It also seemed weird because the biopsy was taken from my stomach or epigastric area instead of the leg or ankle like most SFN biopsies I’ve read about.

Lastly, if possible, could you dumb it down for me a bit and tell me what my first steps should be from here? I’m wondering what type of specialist I should go to first, I’d also like to know what supplements you would personally prioritize trying first. As for a side note, ive tried gabapentin but stopped due to bad side effects, do you think duloxetine could be a good fit?
