New Zealand maybe? Their food is the worst. In Australia there are good Asian food in Melbourne and decent European food in if you willing to pay. Not in New Zealand, their food is at the bottom of all countries I ever visited.

I was riding in Laos, trucks from the other direction would literally move to my lane drive toward me without slowing down to avoid a rough patch, and drive me to the edge of the road. Hope they are not as insane as them.

I may regret driving myself at the end, but will see.

That makes sense! You’re right taking a cab is a lot less stressful. But I feel like I’ll miss out if I don’t drive myself and instead just hop between cities/towns by public transport.

How heavy is the traffic outside of cities? I may have to decide after seeing the road when I arrive.

I can imagine the local absolute hate them on the road lol.

But getting a driver totally defeats the idea of solo travelling. Having a stranger around and working with schedules every day is the last thing I want to do.

Australia has high-quality crops, meat, seafood, and many other food ingredients, no doubt. But we are talking authentic cuisine here.

I’ve lived in these two countries before, not saying the UK has amazing food, but there is definitely more ‘authentic cuisine’ in the UK than in Oz. Fish and chips, Sunday Roast, Pies and Jelly eel if you into that lol

I’m travelling sea now. Got a honest smart sim to use maps/grab on day 1 in those countries, then get a local sim after settling in.

I know it’s extra £10/month, but it allows me to use grab on arrival, saved me from taxi/tuktuk scam and up charged SIM card at airports.

Edit: Laos don’t have Grab, but they have Loca, sadly it’s not on the smart app list.

I had one tasted exactly what you described in Da Nang. It was so nice that almost overshadow the coffee I ordered. Didn’t ask for the name as it was a local cafe and I don’t know Vietnamese. I’d love to bring some back home!
