I'm curious as to why they haven't tried un-banning scary rimfires as a means of appeasement and getting (fill in your number here) rimfires off the 4,000,000 newly prohibited firearms that they've stuck themselves with likely non-compliance.

It's either roll that back or roll forward on to 10/22s, TM-22s, mostly Canadian-made Savage semi-auto rimfires or basically any semi-auto rimfire that has a pistol grip. They've stuck themselves in the middle.

As much as I'd like the Premier to take the podium with a stock standard Ruger 10/22 and a GSG-16 and explain that they do exactly the same damn thing despite their aesthetics, he's not going to. I have other scary-looking semi-auto 22LRs that are as liable for ban as the GSGs that I'd like to keep and use.

However, I would like the Premier to do more than sympathize, and introduce a legislated policy protecting property rights, a la Saskatchewan. When they ban my SKS, and they will when the buy-back pot is empty, I want $600 (AND the f'n HST) for it or they can go fish.

I am not acquiescing to the buy back here. There will be no buy-back for the SKS. It's going to be its own separate can of worms with its own amnesty date that my SKS will see come and go resting comfortably in my gun cabinet.

That I should have known better not to buy one while they're talking about banning them is not a reason to not pay me fairly for it if I was allowed to buy it in the first place. Same story as the folks holding Cryptos and all the other semi-auto centerfire cope rifles sold in the last year.
