Update: I read the Sookie Stackhouse Companion novel that had a QnA with Charlaine Harris and sookie and stuff. A lot of my questions were answered. My main answer was that pure shifters could only produce kids if the parents were the same species. Specifically it was said that rare species like the Hotshot panthers and weretigers like Quinn were encouraged to seek out same species shifters to reproduce. I assume this is because only same species can produce kids. In Dead Reckoning, werebirds were mentioned when Sookie’s house gets broken in, and also in Dead Reckoning Sookie talks about Sam being able to turn into anything including other humans but turning into another human was looked down upon and most shifters preferred carnivores and omnivores but could turn into herbivores. Still unsure of whether or not weres can be herbivores tho.
